Physician dispels myth about link between vaccines and autism (Independent Tribune)

Concord Independent Tribune
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

A physician at CMC-NorthEast is combating the myth that vaccines cause autism.

Dr. Joe Stegman, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician, said numerous scientific studies have shown there is no link between vaccines and autism. His comments come just weeks after the American Academy of Pediatrics objected to a plot in the ABC legal drama, "Eli Stone, " which presented the autism-vaccine theory in its premiere episode.

Just about everyone gets mercury stuck in their mouths. That's been around longer than vaccinations.

Topical medications containing mercury were widely available until the 1990s. I've been exposed to those also. When you rub a red lotion containing mercuric oxide on your body, that's a lot of surface area exposed to a finely divided mercury compound, and what do people worry about? Colloidal silver that might darken the skin and has not been proven to cause any damage in any normal dosage. Silver is also supposed to bind mercury pretty well.

Look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merthiolate The other trade name for "merthiolate" is "thimerosal." I had a lot more mercury painted on me than shot into me. The same goes for mercurochrome. Water soluble mercury compounds were applied to open wounds, for example skinned knees. Mercurochrome was pulled from the shelves in 1998. Merthiolate was banned in the 1990s but i think I can still find it in a couple of places.

We do not yet have a mercury-free generation and I doubt if we have reliable ways to compare mercury exposure between autistic and non-autistic children. The mercury-free contingent are pulling facts together like the fact that a "one-shot" mercury removal technique is likely to cause more harm than good and that drilling out fillings actually increases mercury exposure. I'm for organic sulfur and mild chelation like vitamin C.

I wonder how many children have suffered punishment for behaviors that were caused by exposure to mercury. Acute poisoning is likely to cause neurotoxicity and a "bugs under the skin" feeling.

When I was a kid I loved it when a mercury thermometer broke because playing with the mercury was a lot of fun. I'm not the only kid who played with mercury.

Mercurial nature topic

From vaccines to the periodic table of elements! Silver linings, lead pipes, mercury thermometers, aluminum pots, uranium fission. I for one would like to know if inhaling helium could cause Autism. Then we could listen to funnyvoiced NTs before they spontaeously combuted!
They blowed up real good!

Maybe NT behavior is caused by mercury exposure.
