I doubt it's illegal. Really, subliminal messaging has been found to be completely ineffective (the famous "buy popcorn" was a hoax from a guy trying to sell subliminals to advertisers, he then took their money and left) and if Fox is actually wasting their time putting stuff like that in; well, they're dumber than I thought.

It's so silly I hope this isn't real.

I can't make myself be surprised, though, since this is FOX we're talking about. I'm not sure if I want to wonder if it's FOX being stupid or the Republicans making their best efforts for John McCain to win.

I can tell you that was no accident. Every sound and image is carefully vetted. Fox News is notorious for subliminal crap like this. Many times they have erroneously identified a minor politicitian involved in a scandal as (D)...democrat... when in fact he/she was a republican. Sloppy typo on the news crawl? Me thinks not.

It looked real to me. Hey the subliminal worked too... the whole time I was thinking I sure hope that lousy John McCain doesn't win. :lol:

'buy popcorn' might be in a different league though, to pictures that appeal to our primal instincts. example;

It looks like the CGI logo is supposed to be matted over whatever news clip they're about to show. In this case it looks like the logo was covering a McCain story but was cut off prematurely and another news clip was played instead. I don't know if that's the fault of the network or the video's editor.
