Take a look at the community blog on there, there is one post from what looks to be the owners

Actually, as I understand it, her intentions were to create awareness for the cause by wearing her hair shorn. A wig would have defeated the purpose.

Bottom line is that the restaurant weighed the benefits of her cause (Cops with Cancer, I think) against their own irritation at something “odd” and the Cops lost out.

So, we know what kind of people are involved in that restaurant. The waitress’s only real error was under-estimating the selfishness of that kind of person.

She's a bit wiser now, I suspect. And, I hope, the selfish snobs at Nathaniel’s are a bit poorer.

I’m sure most of us here have had dealings with that type of person ourselves.

I made a post to the Owen Sound paper
http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/Blogs/ ... gID=1587&&
I think something good will come out of this, it has sure raised cancer
awareness, and this story is even being read in the UK, all this over a
lack of hair

I keep my head pretty close to shaved... it's cooler out that way, and I don't think I've ever had a problem.

This lady needs to sue.

I don't see how shaving your head will help raise money for someone :? I don't understand why she got fired for shaving her head.

Well, she shouldn't have shaved hear head or at least told her boss of her want in being bald. After all, she is a waitress.

I personally would find it odd to be served by a bald woman. Couldn't she have worn a cancer badge?

Yep :D
She's not bald, look at the picture. She just has really short hair, and there's many people with that look
I think she shaved her head with sponsers. People pay her to shave her head I believe. That's what it happened for the readathon :D

it is good that she has a better job now.
it was wrong of that resturant to fire her for doing that, she should definitely sue them... i mean the only reason she got the sack in the first place is because she is a woman that shaved her head. if a man did it it would not have been a big deal.

I'm wondering: Do women go bald like men?

Baldness isn't much of a factor in my family, in fact I don't know anyone bald. I do shave my head though, so only the willing are bald in my family. :D
