Criminal record on anyone?
Matches any NICB reports on stolen vehicles?
Were they generally nice people or were they tempting fate?

I'd like to know more.

30 over on the interstate, 95? crossing lanes, cutting around cars, how about a complete disregard for hundreds of humans?

After the cop lit him up it took him two miles to stop, what if it had been someone changing lanes?

Opperating a vehicle as a lethal weapon, his license should be burned on the courthouse steps.

I do not buy "The dog made me do it"

The cop may have been justified for pulling them over, but most police officers would have had the humanity to escort them to the vet or help the dog themselves. You don't tell someone that their pet is just a dog and you can always get another one.

they were endangering other people , quit a few actually, the officer may have been somewhat callous in his comment but he also has probably had to see what happens when people drive like maniacs and it ends badly, but I think stopping them was the right thing the could have even killed themselves, not much help for the dog then.

Pulling them over, telling them oh its just a dog you can get another one is mean, insensitive and so uncalled for. A pet is part of the family for most people, a beloved companion, someone who loves you no matter what, a guardian, and friend. This cop must have forgotten to be empathetic and sympathetic because his actions resulted in that family member dying when it could have easily been saved.

No innocent parties in this one. 95mph is way out of line, even for an emergency; the dog's just as dead if it gets squashed in a car accident as if it chokes to death.

Too bad there is no 911 for pets.

Seriously though, how long does it take to write a ticket?

You be surprised how long they take. I have been pulled over before. When you hand them your lisence, they have to take it back to their car and type in the information in the computer. I assume it's to see if you have gotten any other tickets in the past. Then they write out the ticket and they get out of the car and give you back your lisence and your registration and the ticket. It can take a while trust me. Even my own dad has been pulled over a few times when I was six and he had his whole family with him, my mother and my brothers and I. I hated it because it meant I had to sit and do nothing and it was boring. I hated waiting.

The lives of 10,000 dogs are not worth risking one innocent human life.

The article says that for at least 2 miles, they drove 95 mph while swerving across 3 lanes. They could have killed multiple people. The dog was choking; it was likely to die before getting to the vet and through surgery anyway. Had the cop not intervened, the story could have ended with several dead people and a dead dog.

However, it does sound like the cop's attitude was unprofessional, to say the least. He should not have said, "It's just a dog. You can get another one," because that would obviously only anger these already-distraught people. Instead, he could have simply pointed out how many lives they were endangering, and acted concerned.

It was just a dog, it can be replaced, not so for the people in the other cars.

This on the Interstate, what would he do when he got off on 35 and 20 MPH streets? With people in crosswalks, kids on bikes, school zones, red lights?
