Poor kid. :( I hope some sort of treatment is developed to help him. That must be a really scary thing to have hanging over your head.

I have heard of this condition it is very rare, there are not treatments if my memory serves me correctly and the bone will harden and kill the person. The sad fact is when something in his body is damaged his immune system will tell it to turn to bone, when this boy dies he will be incased in his own bone coffin.

I feel so bad for this boy, I wish there was something to hold onto in term of hope but right now there is nothing except destroy his immune system and start over but most likely that won't help.

It is thought that this disorder gave way to the idea that some monsters could turn you to stone.

Oh, that. Seen it before. He's dead, no cure, too rare for anybody to care, moving on.
Almost another seven billion more.

I hope he doesn't suffer for too long, that boy. It's in situations like thses that the family starts to think about mercy killing. Remember Terry Schiavo?

A tasteless and tacky remark.

I saw an episode of Medical Incredible on the Discovery Health Channel, where they had a girl who had this condition. Her dad said something that was very sad but kind of beautiful. There's a story where a man makes a woman out of stone, and he brings her to life. He said his daughter is instead going from living to being turned into stone.

This, from a guy who's belief system tells him death is the greatest achievement...?
Besides, you have very, very grossly misinterpreted my comment.
Grow up, mate. Learn to read higher English; what I wrote does not say what you have so plainly presumed.

Uh, no. You grow up. You should have been banned long ago.

And I'm not your mate, mate.

You're Canadian - your opinion doesn't count. Thanks for playing.
