When the subject said 'thongs' I thought you were referring to the shoes.
I thought the same thing and wondered what the big deal was. I practically lived in those rubber sandals as a child.
The thong underwear? Isn't that really uncomfortable to wear? It would drive me crazy to wear uncomfortable underwear.
When I was a child back in the 50s it was fashionable to dress little girls in panties with rows of colored ruffles on the part one sits.
At the time I agreed with my mother that it looked cute but it was very uncomfortable to wear if one had to sit for any length of time.
Yes, it is really uncomfortable to wear.I actually bought a thong to see what the deal is. It's awful. all it is is a tiny string that continually gives you a wedgie. and when you sit down the string goes taut. it's terrible. I wore it out, and had a horrible time because i was in such discomfort.

Earlier this year, department store Bhs withdrew its Little Miss Naughty range of padded bras and knickers for pre-teen girls.
Um...ew? it's called little miss naughty? I see nothing wrong with padded bras for little girls who have developing breasts. any woman knwos what it's like to develop breasts. For a long time they are pointy, and that can be very embarrassing. I remember that very clearly. I would wear tighter training bras so my breasts would look flatter rather than pointy. I sure wish i'd had a padded one. But when it's called "little miss naughty" Thats sexualizing children, and it's sick and wrong.
