"One of Reilly’s two nail-packed bombs exploded as he attempted to assemble it on May 22 in the restroom of the Giraffe restaurant at the Princesshay shopping mall in Exeter, southwestern England. Reilly, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism, was the only person injured in the explosion."

Here's another quote from AP that I found funny.

"His lawyer, Kerim Fuad, described Reilly as "the least cunning person ever to have come before this court for this type of offense."

Reilly was not part of a larger conspiracy and had no financial support for his plan, the lawyer said.

"Had his poor unsuspecting mother not handed him the 10-pound note that she thought was for him to purchase a CD that morning, he would simply not have had enough money for the bus fare to Exeter," Fuad said."

This is sad. This is really really sad. But you know what's worse? Some ignorant mindf**k is going to read this article, draw the wrong conclusions, and next thing you know we... that is, everyone who is diagnosed with AS... ARE ALL f*****g BLACKLISTED. As if it wasn't enough that I got school board people who wanna get rid of my ass, now the government is gonna want in on it too.

Female Bombers Strike Markets in Baghdad
2 Mentally ret*d Female Bombers Strike Pet Markets in Baghdad, Killing at Least 73

BAGHDAD February 1, 2008 (AP)
The Associated Press

Remote-controlled explosives strapped to two mentally ret*d women detonated in a coordinated attack on Baghdad pet bazaars Friday, Iraqi officials said, killing at least 73 people in the deadliest day since the U.S. sent 30,000 extra troops to the capital last spring.

Iraqi's participate in the cleanup at the site of a suicide bombing at a popular pet market in central Baghdad, Iraq, Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. A female suicide bomber blew herself up at the market, killing at least 43 people and wounding 78, police said, the deadliest bombing to strike the capital since 30,000 more American forces flooded into central Iraq last spring. The chief Iraqi military spokesman in Baghdad, Brig. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, said the female bombers had Down syndrome and that the explosives were detonated by remote control indicating they may not having been willing attackers in what could be a new method by suspected Sunni insurgents to subvert stepped up security measures.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the use of mentally ret*d women as suicide bombers proves al-Qaida is "the most brutal and bankrupt of movements" and will strengthen Iraqi resolve to reject terrorism.

The first attack Friday occurred at about 10:20 a.m. in the central al-Ghazl market. The weekly bazaar has been bombed several times since the war started but recently had re-emerged as a popular place to shop and stroll as Baghdad security improved and a Friday ban on driving was lifted.

Four police and hospital officials said at least 46 people were killed and more than 100 wounded. Firefighters scooped up debris scattered among pools of blood, clothing and pigeon carcasses.

About 20 minutes later, a second female suicide bomber struck a bird market in a predominantly Shiite area in southeastern Baghdad. That blast killed as many as 27 people and wounded 67, according to police and hospital officials.

One witness who declined to be identified told AP Television News that the woman said she had birds to sell, then blew herself up as people gathered around to inspect them.

The attacks were the latest in a series of violent incidents that have been chipping away at Iraqi confidence in the permanence of recent security gains.

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said about 70 people were killed in both attacks, which he said were committed by terrorists motivated by revenge and "to show that they are still able to stop the march of history and of our people toward reconciliation."

"I am the aspie suicide bomber! Prepare to die you infidels!...Actually, 'infidel' was first used in Middle English circa 1460 (adjective, noun), from the Middle French infidèle, and from Latin infidelis 'unfaithful,' later 'unbelieving', in the 15c. meaning 'a non-Christian' (especially a Saracen); later 'one who does not believe in religion'..."

This is a very sad case, but it is clear that the young man needs to be locked up to protect society.

The most sad and stupid thing is how many people obsess on one thing only, they worry about the mad murderer to the extent that they do not spot the other threats in society. I hold the view that if you think that you are under threat from one thing, then you must not fixate on it and ignore the possibility that something else will come along and trouble you.

I think that crimes of violence by sane people are far more common, and have a greater baneful effect on society. While this young man with AS clearly needs to be isolated from society, I am sure that the majority of murders in the UK have nothing to do with AS.

it seems like everyone who converts to islam is a potential terrorist
at least this guy got what he deserved.

i hate the government, now how to make firearms and explosives along with weapons that can't be detected by the usual means, and have low self worth yet i'm not stupid enough to kill myself for someone else's cause or kill innocent people as a result.

if these terrorists had an IQ higher than those they groom or trick then they would do things much differently.

well, i know shooting someone in the head will most probably kill them yet i don't intend on commiting murder even once in my life, just because you know something it doesn't mean you have to act on that knowledge.

i now how to make explosives, but i don't intend on making any or sharing the information with others.

Why bother to learn explosives if you don't intend to make any?

Guns 'n' explosives do not paint a pretty picture, especially after all those high school massacres ...

Because learning is fun,
and knowledge is power!
