Tit-for-tat ethnic clashes have killed more than two dozen people during the last two days, and angry youths Saturday continued to terrorize parts of central Kenya, defying calls from political leaders to maintain the peace.

The country’s latest postelection trouble spot is Nakuru, about 90 miles northwest of Nairobi, where gangs from rival tribes have burned hundreds of homes, stoned motorists and hacked dozens of people with machetes. The local morgue was overrun with burned, mutilated bodies. Local news media put the death toll as high as 41.

I hate to say it, but I don't think that's his concern regarding it. Churchill was best known for aiding in taking down Adolph Hitler after Neville Chamberlain give into him...and considering Obama already told some Arabic TV station that he wants to go soft on fighting terrorism, THAT would probably be more likely why he didn't want the bust in there...

Let's hope Obama will not end like Churchill --- and allow those Republicans oppositions defeat him in the following elections...
NOTE Churchill was defeated in 1945 by the opposition Labour Party.

That is a stretch. The fact is that Winnie was a drunkard and an imperialist. He was also a bigot in addition. Fortunately he we OUR imperialist and drunkard and bigot when we needed him to bolster up British effort against the Nazis. Warts and all, I thank Winston (among others) that I did not end up as a cake of soap on some Nazi's bathtub.

Dangers of hero worship topic

Given Obama's reverence for Abraham Lincoln I am sure the space once held by Winnie will be filled by Honest Abe--he also had bigoted ideas about African Americans and race relations.

All political leaders, even the most revered, have feet of clay--no wonder they are turned into pillars of virtue to adorn memorials, some of which eventually crumble under the weight of historical research.

Defeated by Clement Atlee who lead Britain into the Black Hole of Socialism. Thirty years (or so) of mediocrity. This is how Great Britain become not so Great Britain.

I will confess...there's one thing about the majority of Aspies here I can't seem to figure out:

facts and logic seem to rule the day for the minds of Aspies.

Socialism prides itself on ignorance and emotions to succeed....

So how is it so many people here seem so badly brainwashed and sucked into the void that is Socialism?

Winston Churchill may not have had the most thrilling personality, but he had many a great thing to say about Capitalism & Socialism...and after Neville Chamberlain squeamishly turned over several countries to Hitler in the hopes of getting peace, Churchill took on the dictatorial despot, and helped America wipe him out.

*Granted, Hitler screwed himself over by burning his bridges with Stalin and getting the majority of his forces wiped out in Soviet Russia, but still..America and the UK were major contributors to the defeat of the Third Reich.

well, he wasn't all bad. He did write some good history books...which is where he belongs...
