E-cigarettes.
Powered by batteries, they look vaguely like a cigarette, the end furthest from your lips glows red, they emit smoke, and they give you something of a nicotine hit with every drag.
However, because they don't burn, they are not classified as, well, cigarettes. And because they don't make a health claim, they're not classified as, you know, medicine. Which means that you can sit at a bar and e-puff......"
I wonder where I can get an e-bong.....

Once you take away the smoke, the cigarette becomes 90% less deadly (I grabbed that statistic out of thin air). Science being put to good use.

I hope the e-cig does not become a leading cause of e-cancer. 
Nicotine is not a harmless substance. Inhalation of this chemical is not some innocent "drag."

Basically... It's a stainless steel tube with a chamber filled with water and nicotine, and a heating circuit that vaporises the mixture... I'm actually quite excited about other uses for this, as in replacing the nicotine-water mixture with something more robust
