Quote:
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration threw open the curtain on years of Bush-era secrets Monday, revealing anti-terror memos that claimed exceptional search-and-seizure powers and divulging that the CIA destroyed nearly 100 videotapes of interrogations and other treatment of terror suspects.

Wow. I'm impressed. Obama shows real ethics to release this, even if it opened up the US to the threat of lawsuit. It shows how much he cares about human rights.

Wait until some future Republican releases the Obama Papers. What goes around comes around.

It doesn't have to do with what party they are in. I rather doubt he's doing it to be malicious. Bush did so many terrible things to the people in this country, and to the people in Iraq. The citizens deserve to know the full extent of it.

It is already happening! It is only a matter of time for this administration to start forgetting about and losing documents along with the wonderful "I can't recollect [fill in the blank]" line. Obama, ethical? Got my first good laugh today. "The ends justify the means" is not an ethical standpoint to have in a democratic republic like the USA. More Smoke and Mirrors.

Yes it DOES have to do with which party they're in. Malice seems to be the base of liberal politics.
Let's pretend I've been in a coma since January of 2001. Give examples of these terrible things Bush did to the people of this country and Iraq.

Well, if Barry has has friends like Sandy Burgler to stuff incriminating documents in his shorts before leaving office like Chintoon did there won't be much to find.

I suppose the most "ethical" bit in this whole story is that Bush v.2 didn't have all of this stuff disappear when he knew good and well that they would be used against him after he was gone.

I'm just curious. What are the "values" of the Republican party?

Why is no one talking about those values if they are discussing ethics? Why is it that there is only a slamming of "liberals?"

Why is this all I ever hear from conservatives?

The values of the democratic party are human rights, education, the environment, health care and cleaning up the economic mess Bush left us in. That's what I believe is best for America. That is what makes me feel patriotic.

There is just so much fearmongering and anger from conservatives. That's all I ever hear.

AFAIC the "values" of the Republocrat Party are essentially the same as those of the Democan Party...

More Government, Less Freedom.

They only differ in the particulars of which bits they want to restrict/control.

I agree, politicians and political parties are entirely self-serving. But when transparency is the end result, surely that's a good thing?
