I also don't understand the fear of conformity faced by so many youths today; all I have ever wanted to do was conform. A lot of the time, I wish I grew up in the 50's when social conformity was more widespread.

I dislike 100% of all cliques equally.

I see myself in the Normal clique. :)

Actually, it's not the stereotypes I hate, (although I do believe stereotypes are stupid) it's the people that made them up I loathe.

I'd have to say I dislike people who strive to fit a stereotype/label exactly, then resent anyone who has the nerve to refer to them by that label.
For example, a kid goes out and gets an emo-ish haircut, buys tight jeans, cakes on their eyeliner every day, and avoids everyone who doesn't do the same. Then, when someone refers to them as emo, they get all upset and say something like "labels are for cans, you stupid prep!".
I'm fine with people adopting a certain fashion or style because they like it or because their friends are doing it, but don't be all defensive about a label that you've attached to yourself.
Please.
The emo thing is just an example. I'm sure alot of people adopt jock, cheerleader or gangster styles as well and go out and relentlessly defend their supposedly stupid, non-existant, or made-up label to the world. I just think self-imposed labels as a whole are silly.

We don't use stereotypes here.

People that think they can buy emo without any hard cynicism, poetry, or immediate medical attention. They are "dark muffins" with no real consequences or showable pain. The preps in my school are fairly nice.

What exactly are "chavs".

I never heard of that stereotype.

I call that the Maybury paradise. It is like Amish Paradise adding 150 years to it. I used to live in a place like that.

The ones I hated the most? The preps, and it's not even close. Everyone else, I could put on an appropriate "mask" so to speak, and get along with them fine.

Gang bangers? I was good at basketball, and they would look out for me at school. They jumped a bully in the bathroom one time and mauled him!
Goths? I like hard rock music and gore movies, and the ones I knew liked them as well.
Jocks? Well, I kinda was a jock myself since I played basketball, although most of them were Gang bangers.
Geeks? Closest to my real personality.
Hippies? The girl I'm "dancing" around with right now is a hippie, and I love her to death. My best friend is one as well.
Rednecks? Most of them love football, and I love watching College Football.

Admittedly, only a handful of those people did I really get to know very well, and an even smaller percentage I really hung out with outside of school. Plus, I did attend 3 high schools to help with my AS, so I was all over the place as well.

As for the preps though, I tried to actually mask along with them, and I just couldn't do it. Too inconsiderate and mean, which goes against my nice guy personality except when I'm angry (which I was for about an entire year or so). They also had no problem making fun of anyone that was lower class than them and everything seemed like a dramatic contest. The fact that I could be friends with every single other social group in High School besides them tells you something.

On a final note, I'd also like to say that these groups really tend to dissolve by your senior year, and by the time your in college, there are two groups left: The ones that pass, and the ones that fail.
