I've been homeschooled on and off since year 7. At the moment I just go into school to do tutorials. It's kinda boring at home but I hated school. I'm not any more isolated than I was when I went to school properly though. I'll probably go to either 6th form or college although I might do a subject at home.

I'd have to admit that I am scared of going to public school. I know, through church, some, maybe 20, people who go there, but they're just like aqaintances. I would be really afraid of being teased. I don't care about being left out, but I don't like teasing. I'm spoiled in that way.

I've been homeschooled since just after preschool... The only issue I've had is socialization; ALL the other homeschoolers in my homeschooling group are heterosexual, NT, and really stereotypical teenager-like (girls talk about shoes, guys don't talk to me). >> It's going well, otherwise, though.

I was in a private Christian school until grade 6, and then I was pulled out (I am glad too), I never had any friends and I was make fun of for the things that I liked, I was in a special needs class, but I still was having trouble, so my parents decided to pull me out, and I really enjoy being homeschooled. I have very bad social skills, I can't relate/talk to ANYONE my age (18), and I prefer talking to older people.

Public preschool-7th

I would pick public school cause I thrive on structure.

Almost the same as me.
I had problems with public school and math, I had problems with unpredictability, anxiety, requirements and bullies.
I learn more and with more ease if I learn by myself at home.

I'm homeschooled.
I went to public school from kindergarten to 10th grade.
This year (11th grade) was my first year after begging to be homeschooled, I was.
I'm very happy with being homeschooled.
I was bullied for 4 years starting in 7th grade and continuing on through 10th grade.
I'd been to 3 different schools and none of them worked out well.
I love learning and doing work I just don't like the people part of school.
I guess the bad thing about being homeschooled is the lack of a social life.
I don't mind, I'm much happier than I was in public school.
I'm also learning much more than I ever had while in public school.

I've been in public school since kindergarten. I would rather go to a performing arts school than a regular public school. I wouldn't like being homeschooled. I don't think my mom is a suitable teacher. Cyberschool is all theory. I can't get my music in without hiring a private tutor if I cyberschooled.

If I got sent to a Catholic School, I'd be kicked out by the middle of junior year for blasphemy and rebellion.

So I'm stuck with boring public school. :study: :|

I'm not homeschooled (attend public school), but I have some cousins who homeschool their kids for religious reasons. You wouldn't be surprised to know that they're religious fundamentalists.

I was home schooled until 9th grade, I'm a college freshman now. I enjoyed it, but when I got high school aged I wanted to try going to "real" school. I tried public school on two separate occasions and didn't like it/didn't tolerate it well. I got so much crap from people from switching from public school to private school, I don't know if they were jealous or just wanted something to complain about  I did well in private school. I was also undiagnosed with some bad medical stuff when I tried public school, so that combined with high anxiety were both factors in not tolerating it well.

I've never been to school and now I am in my first year of University. I took two courses with the Open University. I certainly think that, if done well, homeschooling will certainly provide a better education for a lot of kids than normal schooling.
