I have my roots in the past too.I Love sabbath, megadeth, anthrax, slayer, motorhead, Metallica (black album and earlier, otherwise they fail), Iron maiden (30 years and they are still going strong), Judas Priest, and others worth noting.

There you go. Was that so hard my metal friend. I have followed METAL through out my life and now there are so many type that it is hard to say what is METAL or not. but the past doesn't change and that is why you must look at the past. So you can find the POWER OF TRUE METAL

The weird thing is, I don't like to listen to a lot of music, I just like the songs that I grew up with.

Do you guy's think that's weird? I do.

I went through a phase like that awhile ago. Yes I agree that most stuff sucks now, but I think it has always been like that for top 40 radio.

But yeah I know what you mean Top 40 in the 60s and 70s was the Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, etc. Now radio is Lil Wayne.

Real music isn't on the radio and if it is, it is rare.

I listen to a wide variety. A small subset is listed below to demonstrate how wide.

Enter The Haggis
Kobukuro
Imogen Heap
Blur
Herbert Groenmeyer
Manheim Steamroller
Kumi Koda
Tim McGraw

And the list goes on...

I listen to anything around from the 60s to 80s.
I don't like music that's played recently and I just prefer older music to newer music I guess.

A wide variety, currently with a heavy emphasis on Basshunter.

In contrast to pretty much everybody else, I like classical, jazz and, er, tango. Some old rock is not too bad either.
Astor Piazzolla
Igor Stravinsky
Miles Davis
George Gershwin
Sergei Rachmaninoff
Modest Mussorgsky
The Beatles
To name a few off the top of my head, there are others...
Yeah, I do not like modern music much, modern classical is just an insane cacophony of the orchestra gone mad. I cannot stand heavy metal, rap, pop, or anything like that.

Don't worry, I'm a classical/jazz trumpeter myself, and most of my time is spent listening to that sort of music. I just thought it would be super boring to begin a thread with it =P

I listen to all kinds of things, but today I'm really feeling Lemonade by CocoRosie and Real Live Flesh by The Tune Yards, their both sort of glitchy and cool.

I'd also recommend anything by Florence + the Machine, Laura Marling or Peggy Sue.
