What happens when your schedules are messed up? Just wanna know what other people do.

Personally I get depressed for the rest of the day. Can't concentrate at school, and don't see the point, barely work, don't talk to many people unless I have to. Get annoyed easily at other things, cry later, sometimes. People tell me I'm overreacting when I tell them what's wrong, but personally I don't see it that way, my behaviour seems perfectly logical to me.

I'm having a really tough time with this lately. Dh took a new job with a really chaotic schedule. When he took the job they said he'd have a set schedule. It would either be swing or day shift Tues-Sat. Once he finished training, they gave him his "set schedule" and it was a different shift every day...but it would stay the same from week to week. So, Wed he works 11-7, Thur he works graveyard, etc. That stayed steady for 2 weeks...just long enough for me to adjust to it. Then one night he came home and said he'd have a different schedule for the next couple weeks and handed it to me...then for the next 4 days, he would come home and say tomorrow's schedule is different. A couple times he's come home and didn't even know if he'd be working the next day and had to call in the middle of the time he's supposed to sleep to find out if he would be working in a few hours. We're 3 weeks into the "just for a week or two" crazy schedule and there's no end in sight.

He's NT and this is hard enough on him, but it's driving me totally mad. I'm like constantly on overwhelm. I keep melting down. It's like the rug keeps getting pulled out from under me!

I don't have the same schedule every day, but I plan every day, if that makes any sense. If I have to deviate from my plan, it puts me in a bad mood. Sometimes, it's just mild anxiety for a few minutes. Sometimes, it's these day long panic attacks. I'm not the kind of person to react to anxiety by being depressed. Instead, I get ridiculously mad. So I usually wind up snapping at anyone who comes near me. I do my best to work on it, and it's not an issue at school. It's an issue with my dad, because he plans nothing and springs things on me all the time. I've been trying to get better with adjusting, and I can usually keep from getting to crazy levels of anxiety, but it still throws me off.

I don't have an actual schedule, but I freak out when something's different. I just don't let it show that it bothers me but you could probably tell if you read my facial expression carefully.

Personally I escape from the situation and focus on my special interest, music.

Usually, if I chose to do it, I can work around it, but in general I need at least 3 things consistent in my daily life to feel comfortable. Frankly having this little makes me somewhat anxious, so I am considering adding more, society be damned.

Other times I focus my emotions into an art form such as writing, composing or drawing.

I distance myself and pretty much cry/act out. I end up staying in my room for the day or longer and can go without eating dinner and things. Since knowing my best friend the thing that can help a bit with it all is just emailing her with -hug- About a year and a half ago she told me if ever something was bothering me, whatever it was then I could spam her on msn with hugs even if she was offline. She's my safe place and I'm not all sure why but I'm glad she is. Problem with that is, she can be the one that changes things so then I'm back to being distant/upset/angry/depressed because it feels hard to wanna hug her.

When I was younger, burst into tears. Now I get anxious and upset but I contain it. People think i'm weird but I like routine and schedule

I generally get very anxious when my schedules are changed unexpectedly. Often if I'm going to go somewhere, I make a plan of it ahead of time, and if for some reason that plan has to change, I get afraid, and feel like there's a heavy black cloud hanging over my head, which usually makes me very frustrated and I snap at people. Generally the feeling lasts until the deadline for whatever I was going to do that got changed has passed, then I'm able to move on, reset the date, and try again. This reaction is very frustrating to me because it interferes with daily life, and the physical feeling of anxiety is extremely unpleasant.

If its been replaced with a social occasion e.g a party. I'll dread it and get overcome with anxiety! If it hasn't and say my dads not home until late. I'm generally fine. =)
with a pinch of anxiety though!! !

I get upset and non-responsive at school. No matter how much the teachers try to calm me down it just doesn't seem to work :P. I wish I could just let these things go but it's difficult.
