I think it really depends on the kind of maturity you're talking about. I'm behind the curve socially and emotionally, but I'm a kind, fair person who's level headed. Couldn't that be considered a form of maturity?

And do you really know me well enough to correct me about myself? It's okay, though, I'm not upset, and I'm sure you didn't mean any harm by it.

your kindness and levelheadnees is just that. Its not maturity

The poll is crap because it needs more options, but anyways, I've been told by so many people that they thought I was actually middle aged all through my teenage years, so I guess I can be quite mature at times. Other times I just act childish though. It differs :P

What is the difference between acting more mature and being more mature?

Tell me then, what do you mean by maturity? "Maturity" seems like a rather vague word without a very specific definition, so I need you to explain a bit more.

Being mature is understanding socially complex situations. Looking or acting mature is Acting normal for a certain emotion people may feel.

Can't answer the poll question as I'm too old for that, but I think I always acted older, and got along with older people way better. In high school, I didn't get along well with my freshman class at all, but I got along much better with the juniors and seniors. All my friends now are pretty much older than me by at least a year or two, but I've had like 30+ year old friends, too.

Also, I've had odd age estimates for me. At 20 a few people I knew thought I was like 30, just from the way I carried myself. At 18 or 19, I was offered complimentary wine at a restaurant, probably because I looked older due to coming in alone and wearing a sweater and dress pants that day.

you might act 6 or 7...but not 2 or 3. acting 8 is not that different from 6 or 7. I have worked with 2 and 3 year olds a lot.

Uh, no...

It's just that most Asperger's people act really young for their age.

What's true for you isn't necessarily true for others. It's a spectrum.

Right but the whole idea of AS is that we have less social understanding.
That would cause us to act younger

Technically, I act like one too. But I still act younger than I am.

I have low muscle tone too.

That makes no sense whatsoever. How do you get from reduced social skills to acting younger?

Because as people get older, they gain better understanding of social situations
