Need help with an email...
An English friend of mine (who is actually NT) recently told me about a new girl at her school, let's call her Julia. She thinks we might have many things in common (e.g. an interest in psychology, being isolated, a vegan lifestyle) and since Julia would like to emigrate to Germany (that's where I live) after finishing school, my friend supposed it would be a good idea to contact her via email. I have difficulties dealing with social issues; however, I discovered that I enjoy being penfriends, so I would like to get in touch with Julia and see if we are alike.
Anyhow I tried to write a nice mail tonight; but I couldn't think of anything to say. This is what I know about Julia:
"There is a new girl in my German class whose name is [Julia]. She is incredibly intelligent and her German is far more accurate than mine, but she is really quiet and shy - I think she was severely bullied at her old school. Anyway she would really like to visit Germany as she would like to emigrate there after finishing school. The school exchange is full up, and she is vegan and so doesn't want to impose herself on any family and cause them problems. If you would like to do an exchange thing a bit like this year again, I think she really would get loads out of it!
Even if you wouldn't like to do an exchange with her, it might be nice for her to have contact with someone who has similar interests (she also is interested in psychology).
It's completely up to you, but her email address is [...]"
And I got as far as:
"Dear Julia,
My name is [...] and I am a German friend of [...]."
I don't know how to continue. Although I have never been good at taking the first step, this is rather appalling.
How would you continue the mail?
Thanks in advance.
