Nervous and anxious about starting college
Hey all, I'm a soon to be college freshman. My high school experience was average to say the least, I had a two friends who I was really close with. But because of my aspergers, I was known as the "really quiet guy." So as college is a new experience for me I was wondering:
1.) What is the best way to manage studying and free-time effectively?
2.) Are there cliques in college and does popularity matter?
3.) How to resist peer pressure?
4.) Did you prefer college over high school? If so, why?
Thanks for reading this, it means a lot
I would guess that 80 percent of college students are independent and just do their class work. The other 20 percent live the college "life" of sports, rallies, concerts and fraternities. So, "really quiet guys" fit in quite well. Managing your time is probably best using a calendar for your first semester or year; schedule studying and homework on the next available day after each class. This usually ends up being once a week. The few cliques are usually student groups that you might want to join; otherwise, they become invisible quickly and keep to themselves. Peer pressure isn't quite as demanding as high school, but can become so if you accidentally meet up with some people who use college only to "party" or "make connections." I preferred college over high school. In college, you are completely responsible for your own affairs.
By the way, which college will you be attending?
