I used to read all the time. All the time. in class, at lunch, till midnight, etc.
Early on I would read the dictionary or the phonebook if really bored, and mom constantly bragged that I learned to read at three and a half.
It gets kind of irritating to be the smartest in the class and get the worst marks. I didn't do homework since grade 4, failed math 8 with 0% because of a pig-headed teacher, repeated english 11, was kicked out of class for a third of english 12, and finally got a standing granted for another class so I could graduate.
Ah, grades are indeed tricky things. I didn't qualify for the science line, so I've had to study humaniora, where the teachers give grades for being happy and stuff. Difficult situation, but I guess it serves me right for being so "arrogant".
