I was just wondering if books in the, 'Teenager' section have ever appealed to you?
Me, personally, they never really have done, and after reading other books, teenage books seem incredibly shallow and bland.
And it seems like every single one(for girls anyway) has to involve some dramatic love story... while I don't mind love in a story, I don't think it should consume the whole thing!
I also think teenage books give a terrible image to the current generation of youths(and the same goes for films).
Your opinions?

I find them very uninteresting. They provoke no thought. Nothing but a string of events that for some reason many find very emotionally appealing.

I read one after the other when I was in elementary school. I never read any of the fantasy books, but I loved the teen historical fiction. I don't care for them anymore.

Sure, I love them. I don't favor the love story ones myself, but for example the Harry Potter books... love them. Read all the Twilight books too, pretty decent once you get into them. And a lot of other ones.

When I go to Waterstones I always get books in the teenage section, I like them. I never get anything about love, though, I hate cheesyness!

I like teenage books. Most of the people in my class are too lazy to read even those, they just read 'Where's Wally?' if they're forced to read something. Every time we have to read in English class, there's always a few people fighting over the last copy of 'Where's Wally?'. Good times.

I don't read any books unless it's Harry Potter, I find pretty much all books uninteresting and de-motivating, more like a chore in my eyes.

I never read any teen novels, I was more into non-fictional books. What types of teenage books are there for boys anyway?

Occasionally, I do. But not those romance-tainted ones. The other ones are easy reading and inspire me occasionally to bring another idea into my mental world.

In middle school, I had a brief obsession with the "Gossip Girl" series. That lasted for about one school year, and kept me busy through lunch. The only other teen series I can say I liked were the "Alice McKinley" books, although I never read all of them.

I've enjoyed a few Teen books. I liked the Princess Diaries series when I was younger. But most other Teen books I've read are also in the normal Fiction section of bookshops (ie. they are aimed at both teens and adults), like the Otori series (Across The Nightingale Floor etc.). So in general, no.
