Better than Rx drugs or smoking. If something works, stick with it. If anyone bothers you about it, tell 'em to get a life. Better yet, call me and I'll tell 'em, my way.

I have never, ever, smoked a cigarette. I don't like it and I feel that I get extremely irritated on the inside when I'm exposed to passive smoking. I hate it.

i have never done it, my dad is quitting and that's quite a good thing, i think it's a dirty habit that really doesn't do anything other than hurt you in later life and waste your money on somrthing that you set on fire

In eleven days, I will celebrate my 5 years without a cigarette. And I occasionally want one, but not for any physical reasons. It's the rebellion I crave. But not enough to be put one of those danged things in my mouth!

Anybody who wants to quit: I absolutely totally recommend *** www.quitnet.com ***

Quitnet has lots of helps - one of them goes on forever (if you want) - they count for you, here's my statistics:

========
Time Smoke-Free: 1815 days, 5 hours, 4 minutes and 21 seconds

Cigarettes NOT smoked: 54456

Lifetime Saved: 13 months, 25 days, 23 hours

Money Saved: $16,988.40
=======

I remember when all those numbers were under ten. Quitting is an *enormous* accomplishment of which I shall be forever proud. I tell you this because I want it for you too, fellow puffers. btw, they tell you not quit on the spur of the moment, they tell you how to plan for it ... drop by and see!

I smoke but not really... I just like the taste of the smoke, so I let it stay in my mouth for a while and then I release it. I mean, I don't really smoke.

And I don't care if other people do it as long as they respect the non-smokers space, specially if there are kids around.

I never have nor ever will smoke. I, furthermore, dest the odour of it. I honestly can barely tolerate walking into school each day with the scent of nicotine filling the atmosphere in front of the school doors.

Furthermore, I think it is morally unacceptable to smoke near developing young children. Passive smoking is something we could all do without.

So I guess my position is that of a moralistic and militant non-smoker.

It's pointless and stupid. People who do it are idiots with too much time and money on their hands who don't care about their own health and the health of others breathing this crap.

My personal opinion on smoking is that 7 bucks for a pack of cigarettes that lasts me two days is a somewhat reasonable (although I wish it were cheaper) price to pay for something that calms the nerves...

Fair enough; most things in life are a cost/benefit analysis.

Just remember all the costs you failed to list above:

Shorter life expectancy
Increased risk of cancer
Higher medical insurance premiums
Higher life insurance premiums
More limited dating circle
Loss of productivity in the workplace due to smoking breaks
Limited seating choices in restaurants
Limited room choices in hotels
And so on

Don't smoke, never will. Smoke smells horrible.

I hate smoking, and I refuse to be near people who are smoking and or have the stench of cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoke is dirty and toxic and as an asthmatic person, it makes me wheeze and cough. What also bothers me about smoking is that some doctors and surgeons smoke during break time and then return to examining patients with a stench of cigarette smoke. If a doctor wants to take puffs, why can't he do so after work so that you don't endanger your patients on the job. I don't want a doctor blowing his cigarette breath on my face!! !

I don't intend to get addicted as such but I'll probably have one or two to see what they're like, I don't really see what the point is in not. My Dad's been offered really posh cigars(not all in one go, over several years) and he's turned them down, and imo it's just being awkward not accepting them when it's not like you're going to get hooked with one :/. So I'd probably have a couple through out my life but I don't intend to buy packets :P.

I've smoked since I was 14, it calms me down.
