Formerly known as the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Pirates, from the webcomic Schlock Mercenary, until the creator was threatened with lawsuit by the company behind Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and its sequelae, now known as the Seventy Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries. A few excerpts:

If violence wasn't your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head.

Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Take his fish away and tell him he's lucky just to be alive, and he'll figure out how to catch another fish for you to take tomorrow.

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more, no less.

That which does not kill you has made a tactical error.

There is no "overkill". There is only "open fire" and "time to reload".

If you have to dispose of a few bodies, better that they belong to the enemy.

Something's better than nothing.

Better to be safe than sorry.

What is the Noble Truth of the Way Leading to the Cessation of Suffering? It is the Noble Eightfold Path, that is to say: Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness and Right Concentration.

Some sayings that I go by are,
~ “Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”
~ “Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”
~ “Many of life’s failures are people who had not realized how close they were to success when they gave up.”
I could do more but that could take a wile.

"I Will Be Precise and Decisive in All My Actions."

"If you learned from a mistake it was a mistake worth making."

"You don't know your limits until you've exceeded them."

"I don't give a damn who the man is. He can be a [negro] or a Jew, but if he has the stuff and does his duty, he can have anything I've got."

Anything worth doing is worth doing well, and anything worth doing well is worth being paid well to do.

“ When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy.” They told me I didn’t understand the assignment and I told them they didn’t understand life."

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah The Brothers Karamazov! Though the version I know is "Fathers and teachers, I ponder, 'What is hell?' I maintain that it is the suffering of being unable to love."
