Depends. Sometimes I will insult them back, sometimes I'll just get really upset about it.

It depends on who is doing the insulting (although I almost always take it personally. It's a bad habit and I need to break it). In real life I tend to snap back or walk away. Online it doesn't bother me as much unless the person who insults me is someone I respect and/or I usually consider right. The biggest problem with online insults is I can't properly fight back. I overdo it and look like a public fool. :)

I usually say "thanks, you too" or something to that effect. That seems to just make people angrier though.

If I make everything into a joke, then that's what it is. Atleast it keeps me happy anyway. ;)

Not that I get insulted that often. :D

I'm a master of insults and comebacks. The best way to diffuse an insult is a well-placed self-deprecating joke over it.

I take absolutely everything literally, seriously, and offensively. Then I don't think anything is real.

I am a moody person, I go back and forth...

I'm incredibly oversensitive and take everything personally, so I get hurt all the time. I wish I could change that, but I can't. I envy people who don't seem to be bothered by anything and just do what they want, but only because they seem not to ever get hurt (which is hard to believe and may be an act to some extent). They also tend to be extremely self-centered and selfish, though, and I don't envy that.

I just wish people could be more courteous and care a bit about others. I hate the "in your face" macho bully attitude of our present culture. :x

Cruelty is not a sign of strength.

I'm the same way.

I have to be honest here...I tend to take most things personally. I was not born "extra" sensitive...years of bullying and torment did that to me
Online...I still take things personally. Even if I have not met the person who insults me, it still hurts.

If it's a friend and they aren't joking about it, then it could be taken personally. Other than that, if someone I don't know insults me I couldn't possibly care any less.
