Are you really sure you have Asperger's Syndrome?
Sure as hell don't sound like it.

Um, I've been professionally diagnosed plus I had treatment with an IEP and a 504, so I'm pretty sure that I'm an aspie. You can't tell me that I don't sound like an aspie just because I do things a little differently from everyone else here. All of us, even the NT's, do things differently. There's no laws on how aspies behave, there's no limit on how many or what interests we have, and there's absolutely restrictions on what thgs can help us cope with our everyday lives. So what if I'd rather text than read a book, does that mean I'm a fake? No, of course not! Why would I ever lie about my aspergers on here? There's aspies from all around the world on this site, and by having me lie about my aspergers for millions of aspies to see would make me feel like the meanest person to step foot on this planet. You can't judge anyone based on their interests, including aspies, because we're not all the same. So please don't assume things like that anywhere or anytime because it's rude, aspie or not. Thanks.

I cope by hiding in my basement playing video games whenever I'm not at school.

Television

Cuddling my dog or teddy bears... Awesome eh!?

Daydreaming

Internet. Anything NOT facebook or twitter- or anything where I HAVE to speak to someone. I go on Yahoo answers and skype because I only have a few friends on skype who live abroad and I can easily say: "I need to go!" and they won't speak to me until the next time I'm ready for a conversation with them...

When I am embracing my special interest it puts me at peace. And I can block people out!

rocking or flicking my fingers... It calms me down!

Watching my fish

Listening to music

Photography

Watching repeats of the simpsons I have seen countless times but can't seem to get sick of. It drives my mum insane!! !

Playing "The Sims 3."

Browsing "WrongPlanet.net."

I'd divide my coping strategies into two categories: ones that aim to prevent my stress and anxiety from becoming overwhelming, and ones that calm me down when I'm already overwhelmed. The ones in the latter category are done with the intention of either comfort or distraction.

Category One:

- Listening to music with earbuds (blocks out noise, making sensory overload less likely)
- Planning a schedule, dividing each part of the day into individual 'steps' (makes things feel more predictable and manageable)
- Planning how to get out of a stressful situation (I have to change this depending on the individual situation, of course, but simply knowing that I'm able to escape can minimise my anxiety levels)

Category Two:

- Pacing
- Reading a book about a special interest
- Watching a DVD about a special interest
- Browsing the internet
- Listening to music
- Cleaning or otherwise organising things
- Holding or playing with a toy

If the coping strategies listed in Category Two aren't possible, I'll try to distract myself with some other aspect of my surroundings - for example, counting the number of a particular type of object within a room. This isn't always successful, of course - without a stimulus like a book or some music to keep me absorbed, I find it hard to focus on anything other than my anxieties.

Play one of my games or do some programming if I am in the right frame of mind.
Basically as much as possible to keep my mind off of things.

I shut myself in my room for a whole day; not showering until late, I watch my favorite TV shows on my laptop, delve into my special interests, listen to music, play XBOX 360 and I talk to my friend online that understands me well...and of course, go on Wrong Planet.

I don't know why, but I find it a lot easier to help other people with their problems rather than sort out my own. So i write my problems down and deal with them like they are someone else's. It is good to get a different perspective! :) It helps me a lot, so does a lot of alone time!

That's so awesome you've got a bonsai plant :D I've always wanted one.

Anyway I cope at home by:
-Taking showers (somehow they always calm me down)
-Listening to music
-Playing music
-Eating
-Writing lists
-Watching anime
-Watching comedy tv shows
-Going on tumblr
-Taking photographs
-Going to a quiet park I live near and going on the swing
-Curling up in bed

When I'm out I cope by
-Being quite and keeping to myself
-Hiding in toilet cubicles
-Listening to music
-Counting my footsteps
-Playing music in my head
-Biting my nails

Lately it's changed to mostly humor, venting through writing/bass playing and sharing thoughts/worries with my mentor more.

If it's a stressful thing, I'm good at just not caring.

Not that I'm an uncaring monster. I care a little. I try to find the perfect balance of not caring so much that it stresses me while still being at least somewhat emotional. And even if I don't care, I'll still do it or fix it, so if I have a project due the next day, I won't care so as to not get stressed, but I'll do it anyway because why not?

Socially, I just usually use sarcasm. It's usually half cynical and half in the name of humor. Though usually it's the funny sort, as I'm rarely ever dull or completely serious.

I can't say that I have many ways to relieve stress or depression, but that's mostly since I'm just naturally happy. I've NEVER been depressed, and I can't see myself depressed, and when I deal with stress I just forget about it anyway.

I'm, like, a happy person. Or something. Stress is just too boring for me.
