I personally wouldn't recommend pretending to be NT. There are some people with AS who have the natural ability to fit in the with NT crowd but if you don't already have this ability I think there is no point in pretending to be NT. It's more than likely your just going to be awkward communication wise and make a fool of yourself.

Be yourself. Be unique as g2 said.

Personally, I can get over most of the social akwardness, I mean I will always miss subtle social cues and such but Im effusive and polite enough to compensate.
