Have you ever thought of fostering? You can get an endless supply of kittens that way! :D

But if you seriously want to get a kitten or a cat of your own, what kind of cat would you want?

i haven't been lucky enough to stumble across a unique breed of cat, i've owned 7 in my lifetime and all have been domestic shorthair

fostering is a great idea though... but i have quite a while before i start living on my own anyway. i'd like to start soon of course though because my dad doesn't want any more cats, and i want alot more cats..

we found one left... sadly, in a dumpster, so we took it home and raised it for 4 years until a vicious dog attacked it =_=

another one we found abused and neglected at a family member's ranch.. we took it home and took care of it for 4 years until somehow she got cancer =/

I like cats, they are really good pets. I have two ocicats who are about 1 and a half years old so they are still very lively (unlike old cats) and they play fetch; like dogs only much better.

I love cats, but it's a shame I'm allergic to them. I start sneezing non-stop if I stay in contact with a cat for too long, and my eyes become bloodshot, very sore and start watering.

One of my friends are like that. I have a longhaired cat and when she comes over, I mean she has her medicine and all, but when she doesn't have it....she sneezes a lot!

I don't think you need a specific breed to have them playful! :D

I have a 11 month old kitten that is playful and is probably going to be playful for the rest of his life! :)

My older cat has his playful "moments" but they are only moments of course...

^ I know that - I think it's just coincidence that these ones are more playful than my old cat (regular tabby) ever was.

I have a cat who lives under my sink. We found it with a collar that had a colorado area code on it (we live in seattle, it's quite far)

It took us 4 years of feeding the cat before it'd let us touch it. Now it lives inside, under our sink, it never comes out, and hisses at everyone who opens the door.

Domestic shorthairs aren't very playful kittens =_=

EDIT: I just tried putting string under the sink and tried to play with her. She hissed at me. :(

I feel sorry for that cat. I wonder how she got there... I have a 15 yr-old cat. She LOVES attention. And the funny thing is that she will go, when we have people over, to the one person who either doesn't like cats or is allergic to them.
We used to have a bunch of outdoor cats, but they had a tendancy to be under the car when mom was going somewhere. And they would get eaten by coyotes.
I would love to get more cats, but my parents wouldn't.
If dogs were so smart, why didn't our two dogs protect the cats? Now we have three dogs, but no cats for them to protect...

Cats would probably be my favourite pet animal. We recently (well, 6 months ago) got a cat, he's nice and laid back, which is the kind of pet I like having. Cats have never been an obsession or anything though. My favourite animal when I was younger was a cheetah, purely because I read somewhere they could run at 60 mph and I though that was fairly cool :P
