I did all kinds of stimming with my hands and arms until the middle of high school. Then I got teased about it too much and learned to keep my hands at my sides or in my pockets. But I had trouble talking without my hands. It was like there was a tactile form to conversations that I had to feel with my hands, otherwise I would shut down. But I learned to do little socially acceptable stims that people wouldn't notice. But I still talk better with my hands.

I want to ask you guys something: I'm do something with the aspie/autie kids at the elementary school where I coach the rugby club. So I'm wondering what you would have liked to have in elementary school.

It seems like a sanctuary room would be good, where it's quiet, and they can stim without being teased. Someone also suggested a Neuro Club.

Any ideas?
