Your dresses should be tight enough to show you're a woman and loose enough to show you're a lady. - Edith Head

With incompetence comes the illusion of superiority. Stupid people are too stupid to know how stupid they are.

What people say about you reflects more on them than it does on you.

If you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain.

It's better to be hated for who you are than loved for who you're not.

'Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time' Henry W. Longfellow

Sometimes legends make reality,
and become more useful than the
facts.' Salman Rushdie

"Live your life, Not your fears"- My uncle, before having a brain tumor removed. It turns out he has brain cancer, so that has new meaning.

"Your not just a bunch of diagnoses."- My dad, referring to the fact that I have Asperger, ADHD, Tourettes, anxiety and dysgraphia.

Everyone's life is a pack of lies, so choose the lies you can live with.

Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men.

We are a world of people, not ethnic groups, not races, and not different descriptions of people on paper. We are human beings. And if there is one thing that human beings have in common, it is the desperate need to be free.

Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.

You can lead a man to Congress, but you can't make him think.

There's a lot of quotes that I really like but the one I've taken to heart the most is this one by Emily Dickinson:

"Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all."

It's important to me because it describes my life fairly accurately. There's been several periods of time where the only thing that has kept me going is the hope that things might get better one day. Which, hopefully will be soon. :)
