Yeah, being a normal NT is boring, they are tied to a lot of behavior patterns.

I think there are different kinds of "popular". There are the people who are popular because they are friendly and nice and get on with everyone, whereas there are people who are popular because they bully and intimidate people and no-one wnats to be their next victim.
As for fitting in, i tried that, pretending to be into the same crappy pop band and rubbish tv as everyonelse. Beleive me, it doesn't work.
It's way better to be thought of as the weird/freaky one as people come to expect it and aren't bothered if you act strange.

Could care less whether I'm popular as an adult, didn't care when I was a teenager.

I want to "fit in" enough that people won't tease me, that they'll just be nice to my face. But if I have to change my personality or interests to accomplish this, I refuse. I'm proud of my weirdness. All I ask is that people respect me to my face. I could care less what they say about me behind my back. Fake niceness is enough for me. I just hate outright teasing- I had enough of that in elementary school...

I am dying to fit in.
I'm afraid of not having any friend..

I've saw the MEAN things kids do to the unpopular/loner ones

I actually don't care about it, I am rather the way I am. I don't like the idea of changing myself for the others, I'd do it only for myself, if I consider it'd be good for me.
Otherwise not.
If anyone accepts me the way I am, then good, if not - who cares then.
I used to care more when I was younger, but "pretending to be normal" goes on my nerves, so - I don't care about it anymore.
I am just the way I am and wouldn't change myself for someone else, nor for society.
I am rather alone, weird and HAPPY with the way I am.

I don't care about fitting in and being popular, and while I don't think I'd mind fitting in, popularity sounds like a nightmare. >.>

As long as people don't mess with me, I'm fine with either being liked or ignored.

I definitely want to fit in and make a few friends, but as for being popular I couldn't care less. I'd rather be popular among 5 people then among 50. Kind of the Master-of-One, as opposed to Jack-of-All.

I don't like someone whom I don't perceive as my intellectual equal. Since this is more common in groups of people, I don't like them. I only have one really close friend at school, with whom I do basically everything.

Being popular: I don't care. I know I wouldn't like all the extra attention but I don't have to consciously avoid popularity since I'm not a charismatic person in the first place.
Fitting in: I do try to fit in. I'm bad at it - often conspicuously enough for people to ask me in person why I don't act normal - but I know it would be a lot worse if I didn't try. At least I'm not being outright picked on as it is.

I couldn't care less. Well actually I do, I'd hate to be popular. I used to fit in and I enjoyed that but I'm happy now as well. When you have a shell so other people can't hurt you like I do. Emotional shells always help. They also hinder a bit when you do actually feel emotions but it's worth building one up.
