they like to tease me because you know, i got that 'weird' vibe

one time the bullying gets worse and I got really depressed and i never tell my parents :(

I guess it just depends if your son exhibits behavior that makes him stick out more and become more prone to that sort of thing. :/

I may or may not be an Aspie, but I hid most of my weirdness pretty well since I mostly kept to myself, and I usually found a friend that would appreciate my quirks--I would always stick with them, and bullies tend to go for the lone kid.

When I moved to a new school and had no friends, I got messed with a bit. People would see me sitting alone at lunch and mess with me...not in any sort of physical way, but they would tease me a bit, or jump at me and make a loud noise to startle me. I skipped lunch for months because it was easier to go hungry and sit in the library than to deal with the possibility of someone intimidating me or trying to talk to me when all I wanted was to be left alone. Similar things would happen on the bus.

I think I rarely got picked on as an individual. I don't think people were like "There's Shannon sitting alone, let's mess with her!" because they thought I was weird. I think they just saw a quiet girl that looked like she'd be fun to mess with since she happened to be alone. I wasn't weird enough around people that did know me to warrant any sort of harassment. I just drew things and did well on my tests and helped people if they asked and otherwise didn't talk.

Teachers seem pretty clueless when it comes to this more passive type of bullying, because it doesn’t involve people getting beaten up and thrown into trash cans or anything—and I never told anyone in a position of authority that I was getting messed with because I felt it was petty and I was just overreacting. So teachers may say “Oh we don’t allow bullying in our school”, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

That being said, I'm generally either ignored or, when it comes to a few people, accepted pretty easily. I've found a few friendlies to hang out with, so people don't bother me anymore.

Mostly, they used to call me "sick in head", "brain not normal" and other similar nicknames.
I'd say great! Yeah.
I am almost always the "group weirdo", now I am not because I am finally homeschooling.
