I love history! It has been one of my favorite subjects. I'm really interested in the Revolutionary War. I could go on and on about my knowledge of history. Sometimes, my history teacher would be like, "That's enough!" That's how much I am into history and how much knowledge I have!

Late Middle Ages esp. Joan of Arc (JEANNE LA PUCELLE!! !! :study: ) That can lead on to the history of ballet, that I have just started to get into (I LOVE the Romantic era (The whole idea was ethereal! I even love the word ethereal! I love ballerinas and sylphs and butterflies very much so many of the things i love together.) My favorite tutu is Romantic style. I have other areas of history down quite solid too.

I have a deep love of history. My favorite subjects include WWI like the Meuse Argonne Offensive. The American Civil War especially the Confederacy, and the battles of Antietam, Gettysburg, Shiloh. I like studying Native American history. I have a love of learning about all royals. Such as Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov of Russia and King Edward VI of England. I have the ability to memorize dates and names, sometimes after only reading it once.

Did Cyrus the great take Babylon in 539 BC? I'm really into Ancient History, the Colonial and industrial eras, WWII, and Cold War history.

Well, finally. I'm a huge history buff. I got the highest grade in my class for my seventh grade project, all because I took a whole weekend and made a 4-minute video about Leonidas and the Battle of Thermopylae. Now I'm loving the American Civil War, though I can recite facts about a huge number of different historical events, from Egypt's Old Kingdom to the Cold War. I actually hope to become a living historian after college.

Yes (although I'm not sure if I'm an aspie or not)! I've got a bit of a History obsession, different periods come and go. Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, Pompeii and Herculaneum, the history of Tea, the Tudors, the denazification of Germany, the Victorians, 1920s USA...etc...It's nice to know that not everyone loves science!

me me me me me

my least-hated subject in school. i'm a 20th century buff mostly, World Wars, but i like prehistoric history too, like early human migration and language evolution.
one think i don't like about history in school is that they don't go very in depth. they mostly waltz over topics. i remember going into junior year of HS, being really exited about the WW2 unit,...and that barely lasted 2 weeks. i was supremely disappointed.
at least the battle of Stalingrad got it's own page in the textbook. :?

Certified history buff here.

In high school, they just scratch the surface.

The only time history that is taught in depth is during post-introductory college/uni courses

I'm fascinated by all aspects of history--from the Dawn of Man, to today.

Specifically, I'm fascinated, in chronological order, by:

1. Neanderthal Man (circa 150,000 BCE - 25,000 BCE

2. Athens/Greece BEFORE Pericles (circa 600 - 500 BCE

3. The "Barbarian" invasions in Europe and their aftermath (circa AD 400 - AD 800

4. Early Norman England (circa 1066 - 1200)

5. The 1381 Peasants' Revolt in England

6. The transition from Middle English to Early Modern English (circa 1450 - 1500)

7. The Enlightenment

8. The Victorian/Edwardian period (especially Victorian)

9. Both World Wars

10. The 1950's-1970s

These are all I could think of at the moment.

What's with the history obsession, anyway? Why do so many apsies seem to like it?

For, me, it's honestly how it's told. I like it when it's told as an interesting story, not information thrown at my face.

I don't deny and revised the holocaust because holocaust is a real story not fictional.
