I hate it. Drunk people are really annoying to be around.
I don't want to drink. Knowing me I'd end up doing something ridiculous. 8)

Yeah, I'm also straight edge. The culture of alcohol and chemicals is mainstream.

I don't drink. Whenever I tell people that they're always like "Good for you, it's always so nice to find a young person with morals, you're such a sweet girl!" or "God, don't be so uptight and 'moral' all the time". It's not like that, though. I just don't like the taste of alcohol or the feeling that my head is about to fly away.

That's a presence surprise. I usually get a very negative response.

I'm straight edge. Or should that be xStraightxEdgex? No drugs (non medical), no alcohol, and no promiscuity.

The first (and last) party I went to, someone brought Alcohol. It ruined the party, because most people couldn't hold a converstation and fell over when me and my borther got them to stand on one leg and count to 1000 (in muiltiples of 100)

I think that certain kinds of alcohols such as beer and liquor smell very funny and nasty and I've never had the desire to get myself drunk and dizzy in social situations. I mean...what is the purpose of getting drunk?????

Also, I had a seizure back in spring 2008 and my doctors don't want me to consume any alcoholic beverages in fear that they could trigger more seizures. However, that didn't pissed me off because I prefer refreshing, non-alcoholic and non-carbonated drinks over nasty-tasting liquor or beer.

You sort of remind me why I don't drink alcohol...

I don't drink anymore because I have nobody I'm comfortable to go out and drink with. I don't like the company of people who drink heavily either, it can lead to a lot of awkwardness or danger. Nothing moral or straight edge about it.
I just refuse to put myself in dodgy situations. Drinking also makes me feel a little bit ill.

My opinion? It smells awful so I'd never do it. Plus I am VERY obsessive in my nature so I'm afraid that just ONE sip might be enough to get me hooked if I ever did happen upon an alcoholic beverage that smelled good to me (so far that doesn't exist and prob'ly never will). I've had too many tic-related bad habits in my life so I don't need another one to take its place. And if I may say one last word about the subject, alcohol is supposed to impair judgment - as both an Aspie AND an OCD victim my judgment is ALREADY impaired a lot of the time, so to impair it even further would pretty much be tantamount to suicide and/or a mental hospital for someone like me - and I don't want either one of those!! :x

i say alchohol is a great medium for having fun and socializing with your peers. anyone who says it isnt that lacks expierience or self control. at the guy who said he'd do some weird stuf when drunk thats exactly why i drink.

I don't drink or do any kind of drugs simply because I don't like the way it tastes. I don't get any pleasure out of "being high", and doing drugs takes away control of the mind.

Nearly everyone I know drinks, smokes, and does something they shouldn't be doing. I've had people try to get me to drink, like after I graduated my Mom and Cousin were trying to force me to drink alchohol and I said no. I then drunk a sip just to shut them up and I made it clear that I did not want to get drunk. They kept insisting I drink enough to "get a buzz" and I just went to bed. I'm not giving up my principles just for the amusement of others when I get nothing out of it.

I have made a pledge since kindergarten to never drink alcohol, smoke, or do marijuana. Not even one sip of alcohol. I've stuck strongly by this decision so far.

Drinking is something that people "shouldn't be doing"? Where are we, Saudi Arabia?!

That said, no-one should be forcing someone to partake in an activity that they do not want to do. Some people don't like drinking which is fair enough.

True, booze is often very highly taxed. I don't know how much it is in Singapore but I'd probably limit my intake (or home brew) if it came to more than about £3-£4 a pint.
