Sometime i think about it, but once i get in the car and start driving i am too focused on the road to think about it. The scariest thing is probably the other drivers on the road though.

I had never driven a car or knew the basics about them until my first driving lesson earlier this year. I had gotten the hang of it by the second class. Then I bought myself a sports car with a manual transmission as my first car. I taught myself how to drive stick shift (with the help of youtube videos) and the experience has been so much funner than driving that slow learner car. I also got rid of that habit they made learn of turning the steering wheel before making a turn and letting the car take care of straightening itself it. I find it much easier to just turn as I go.

I prefer not to drive if I don't have to, not because I don't like it but just because it's boring and bad drivers/speeders are a constant annoyance.

i'm afraid of driving, not because of bad experiences with cars, but because my depth perception isn't all that good, and i'm so short, when i sit in the driver's seat of my family's van, i can't see the hood at all to use as a reference. :P
thank god my parents might get me a small car to learn in, and for me to keep once i get my license :D

i got my license about 3 months after i turned 16, even before alot of my peers got it. i drove my parents minivan for a year and a half, which kinda embarassed me alittle. a couple months ago, they helped me get a 1997 toyota tacoma and i love that thing, even though its only a 2 seater. ive never gotten in a wreck and i find driving rather easy except for when the weather is bad.

I'm seventeen, but I just learned to ride a bike this summer. If I can't trust myself running alongside traffic on a flimsy thing with two wheels, I probably shouldn't do the same on a 4-wheeled death machine. People will get hurt.

Petrified of driving. There's no way I could handle all those inputs.

God! I give you some fierce credit, if your location on your profile is true! I've driven in Montreal, and that is some really nasty driving. I am a crappy driver and I got my license on the first try. My brother, who is cocky and more confident (and doesn't have ADHD) failed. Sure, I have to take care of two traffic tickets, but it will be done.

I got my driver's license recently. Most NTs seem to jump the gun and get their driver's licence as soon as they turn 16. They were all wondering why I didn't, I was absolutely terrorified and just plain bad at driving. Finally got it, over a year later than my peers. I failed my first driving test and passed the second time. I try to avoid having to drive, I hate it. :(

I feel ya. One of my classmates pressured me to get a permit saying its easy and you just have to know the signs. I did pass, but I had to wait 2 weeks to get a permit because they wanted my social security card which I didn't have and had to get a new one. Some say most people fail their first driving test, so I'm quite anxious about that. The good news that if at first I don't succeed, I'll try and try again.

I started at 17, trying to delay it - everyone else usually started at 16.

Before I got my license, during practice (for months), it was pretty rocky. The first time I drove I went over a curb and multiple times throughout the months I occasionally freaked out, in a meltdown/overwhelming kind of thing. It's miraculous I didn't get into an accident! Yes, I was scared.

I'm not really that scared now, as with more experience it's less anxiety-inducing. Though I don't "enjoy" driving, it's just a chore.

I'm afraid to drive too. I took a drivers education class when I was 17 but its lessons were mainly about why not to drink alcohol and drive, how dangerous driving is, and how many people get killed from careless mistakes. I think it actually made me more afraid. Its like the class only encouraged the fears I already had. I still plan on getting my license though. I think I'm going to get a professional driving instructor. Although I hope when I drive it will be because I want to and not because I have too. Its work to me. Not fun. Driving just isn't a comfortable thing for me.
