I went to this topic to say I adore cats but your post was the first I saw and I thought omg...

We have never talked to each other but Im feeling very deeply with you!! How do you feel and how do you cope with it? Are you ok?
How old was your cat? how did it die?

You dont have to share it if its too painful and as we dont know each other. I just want to give my sympathy to you in your situation. Because I know how difficult it would be as I neither know what I would do if I didnt have my cat.

I never ever forget when my childhood cat died. It was my best and only true friend when I grew up. She was sent to the vet to get an injection because she was to sick to be treated. I wasnt able to say goodbye to her and I didnt ask my mum where she buried her until many many years later on.

Now I have a cat (the black one of my avatar) who is everything to us. Its hard to think we will loose her one day, but hopefully that is many years left until that day will come....

Better than I thought I would be feeling. I'm quite sad.

I havent rearly been thinking about it to be honest. Most of the time I'm just doing stuff to get my mind off the subject, like making websites.

I'm a bit upset, trying not to think about it. I thought I'd be like crying non stop or something if he died because I knew him since I was 2, and I've been stroking him every day.

Right well this is the horrible bit, he died from kidney failure, screaming. I was asleep at the time, and when I woke up my mum said that he died in his sleep. (to prevent me becoming too upset) I felt quite sad, but I was just about coping. When I went home and before my mum got him buried, she told me that he made a really loud painful noises while he was dieing (bad I know) and died in my mum's boyfriend's arms. Yeah, awful. I hope your cat doesn't die like that.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really didnt think you would reply.
Such an painful way to die. Poor cat. If it was mine I would have cried my heart out so badly that I probably wouldnt know what to do with myself other than die myself...
I hope you dont suffer too much about how the cat died. Try to remember all the good and wonderful moments you had with it! Take care the best you can :flower:

I love them and I have four lovely cats myself. A brown tabby with white paws, a slim, solid grey one, a fluffy white one and a long-haired, round eyed, bushy-tailed black one.

My Abraham died a horrible death too. Hit by a car when he was only a year old.

When he died, I only cried for about 5 minutes before getting on with life. It surprised me how I acutally managed to cope and continue about my daily life, but I felt as though I needed to do it to make him proud of me. Silly, I know, but it worked.

I have 3 cats, was 4 a couple weeks ago. I like them, but I'm allergic to them. I'll play with my cats, then sneeze for the next 3 hours. lol

I've had a lot of cats as I've grown up, maybe one or two at a time, most of which are dead now. Right now I have a callico cat named Calli, and I think she's the quirkiest one I've had so far. Whenver my mom or uncle try to pet her she runs away, but she'll only let my brother and me pet her (mainly because we can chase her down). We keep her indoors, since most of our previous cats have died early deaths because of the dogs that lived near my old house. I remember one time when one of my neighbor's kittens followed me and my friend to another friend's house, her dog killed it right in front of my eyes. Sorry if that's too disturbing for this forum, but I just felt like bringing it up.

I'm slightly obsessed with cats. When I was younger and my mum still walked with me on the way to school, she had to take me out of the house half an hour earlier than should have been necessary because I'd stop and play with every single cat I saw. Unfortunately I'm not allowed a pet cat but I collect toy cats, books about cats, information about cats, cat-themed puzzles and I've found a lovely hat on ebay that has cat ears on it. :D When I'm older I want 2 (or hopefully more) cats.
