Actually those bands aren't about destruction. They are just heavy.

August Burns Red is a Christian Band.
I don't know much about Between the Buried and Me
Battlelore is about Middle Earth (The fictional world of Lord Of the Rings)

Sorry if I sounded like I was attacking you In my previous post.

My favorite band is People In Planes.

But I listen to anything with strings and/or piano.

"alternative" (for lack of a better term) - though TMBG seems like they transcend such a label, IMO ;)

I'm very fond of Coldplay, Keane, Snow Patrol, The Postal Service, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. A bit of an odd-mix, I know ^^; I'm pretty much an alternative/indie girl with a liking for some pop as well.

For the past few years I've been massively into what you might call "indie" music, but I've lost lots of interest in it, getting a bit bored of it.

I'm mainly into post-hardcore and electronic music these days.

My favourite band changes a lot... this year I've mainly been into Blood Red Shoes, Modest Mouse, Autechre, Foals, Everything Everything, The Ghost of a Thousand, Pulled Apart By Horses, LCD Soundsystem, Liars, and I'm slowly getting into The Beatles.

My listening tends to be painfully contemporary. :(

i've always had changing music tastes/phases since i was young. i've been into almost every kind of music to the point of obsession: classical, jazz, alternative rock, house, hardcore, metal, trance, beats, screamo, blues, techno, ambient, hip hop/rap, electro, classic rock, indie, etc.
interestingly, after i get over one phase and move on to another kind of music, i tend to rarely ever listen to the previous genre again. i just wanted to know, does this happen to other people as well?

for the time being i'm mainly into electronic dance music: trance, house, dubstep, drum and bass, hardstyle, techno. i also like music in the broader electronic music genre, but i dont know the names to classify them. electro? electro funk/jazz? i think i may have hit a break in the road of music exploration. i've been into electronic music for about 3 years, more time than i've ever spent on any other kind of music.
my favorite producers/djs are armin van buuren, deadmau5, myon & shane 54, super 8 & tab, arnej, M & D substance, mango, MRSA, noisia, avenger, david forbes, daniel kandi, bag raiders, shinichi osawa, andy blueman, roger shah, marcus schossow, rank 1, M.I.K.E., solarity, DNS project, sean tyas, fast distance, dash berlin, daishi dance, menno de jong, surkin, temple one, dinka, dj eco, estiva, ferry tayle, artento divini, st. andrews.
i also like hop hop, namely korean hip hop. dynamic duo, verbal jint, epik high, kero one, supreme team, drunken tiger, pe2ny, kebee.

I mainly love meaningful songs and songs that describe my life, regardless of genre. I particularly am attracted to Christina Aguilera because her songs has touched my (and many other people's) lives. For us with AS and Autism, the songs 'Beautiful' and 'The Voice Within' would be the most relevant to us. 'Reflection' and 'Fighter' are also my favourites. I also like Kelly Clarkson's songs that are not necessarily about break-ups and boyfriends, like 'Breakaway', 'Because Of You', 'Since U Been Gone (it can really refer to a friend or anyone else)', 'Gone', 'If No One Will Listen' and 'Impossible'. All these songs really describe my life; you might be interested to listen to them.

I also love World Music in general, like Latin pop and salsa, Brazilian, French Cafe, Indian, etc. These are also the 'traveller's' kind of music.
