I like Korea a lot more than Japan, I like the sound more, and the grammar. Just my opinion.
I studied Korean for several months last year, and to me it's a lot easier than Japanese, grammar-wise.
And hangeul is much easier for me than kanji. I could never learn all the jōyō kanji.
Korean does use hanja, but only in historical documents and newspapers in South Korea, They were outlawed in North Korea, and are slowly dying in use in South Korea.
