I don't remember doing it as a kid, but when I get excited, I flap my hands in a way that looks like I'm "air-clapping". I do clap, as well, but not as often.

I do it when I'm talking about my interests or when I do something good in my games.

I'm 22 now, and I still flap out of the blue. It throws people off sometimes. Even me.

I do! I didn't ever find my self to be one who stands on her toes much though, but I hand flap.

I flap my hands and bounce on my toes when I'm excited or nervous even though I am 16. My friends don't care though.

I've never had urges to do any sort of stimming. I bite my nails and chew gum instead (could never survive without the stuff, seriously). I'm also very self-conscious, and would get too embarrassed if I was caught in public doing something that'd be considered odd or babyish.

I definitely stim but I tend to do it more in the form of random hand gestures and movements when I'm talking to someone. I'm definitely one of these people that talks with their hands. I don't think I do it often enough to be considered a problem, though.

Does it count as stimming if I rub or stroke certain parts of my body repeatedly? I tend to do that when I'm stressed and by myself.

YES! I do it all the time, but it's usually with my fingers. It helps with my creativity. I know that sounds really weird, but it's relaxing.

I generally do it with my fingers as well. Nice to know that I'm not alone. :)

I never was a big hand flapper. I don't think I even discovered it until a couple years ago. For stimming, I'd much rather hit a ball around than shake my hands.

Agreeing with those other two people, I also do two different kinds of stims with my fingers!

I typically shake pencils or a remote control or something. My family made me stop hand flapping in preschool and gave me a "flippy" to shake around, which doesn't really make any sense because I still look dumb doing either one. :|

I do! I've been trying to work on it, but I still do it whenever I get super excited.

Not sure if this counts as a stim, but for some reason, I always tend to randomly mess around with my hands when I'm thinking. I don't really flap them anymore, but I do like to bounce on my toes and run around doing airplane arms whenever I get excited.

Tends to attract a LOT more weird looks that way, but oh well.
