Is there any tips on successfully telling your feelings to shut up?

Finding the root of these "feelings" and fixing them. What do you have against feelings anyway? :?

I was going to say that I've never actually tried.
But I would need to qualify that.
I've never consciously tried to go into denial.
Some people seem to be able to consciously choose to lie to themselves.
I can't. Once I figure out what's going on, I can't go back to sleep.

I am too in touch with them. And the rest of my family knows how. The root of them seems to be past happenings I can't do anything about as of recenlty.

That's the problem with therapy(or at least what I got)you spend time finding the root of the problem but not how to fix it. They seem to think that once you realize what the problem is it will automatically disappear, but chances are you need some kind of behavior mod and that is a different kind of therapy.

I just wanted to be less sensitive. To get out of touch with my feelings.

Engross yourself in an imaginary world. I do and im happy allllllll the time. I imagine being famous for something and I spend all my time daydreaming. Nothing bothers me at all. The bad side is I have no job, im not in school, and I quit talking to all my friends. I wouldn't recommend it unless your desperate.

Tried it. Maybe I should just learn to be a man.

Then maybe I should follow those guidelines, treat them as if they are not socially acceptable to express (after all, my whole family would love it if I did)
