Hello. I’m a British teenager with a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, and I’m looking to befriend like-minded sorts.
An ideal friend would be aged between fourteen and eighteen, and located in the UK (preferably the North of England or the Scottish Lowlands). However, I certainly wouldn’t be averse to interacting with those who lie outside these geographical and age ranges, providing that there’s enough of a basis for friendship.
My special interests are philosophy and rail networks. As far as those subjects are concerned, I’m particularly keen on logic, epistemology, philosophy of science (incl. philosophy of particular sciences), and the historical development of the British rail networks.
There is also an assortment of other topics I’d be happy to discuss:
* British road networks (mainly the trunk roads).
* Music. I love classical music, jazz and blues, and take a secondary interest in the history of these genres.
* Film. Particularly enjoy Old Hollywood, the French New Wave, German silent cinema, and pretty much any decent Western.
* TV and radio comedy. Avid fan of Spike Milligan, the Monty Python troupe, Gervais & Merchant, and anything featuring Alan Partridge. (If you’re similarly inclined, that’s more or less enough to secure my friendship. )
* Politics. I’m more interested in the theoretical sort of stuff than current affairs, but both are up for discussion.
There are a few other subjects I take an interest in (namely history and an array of sciences), but they don’t strike me as being the easiest topics on which to build a conversation. However, if you enjoy them and believe otherwise, feel free to have a bash. I’d be pleasantly surprised.
Looking forward to any PMs or replies.
Thank you for your time.
