I think it would be so cool to listen to music by an Aspie. I like pop music. Are there any pop singers who are Aspies?

I suspect that "charlie winston" is an aspie, but this is just my diagnosis ;-).

If you listen to his song "like a hobo", listn to the text, he tells that his father told him to always say a true word. For me it sounds abit like an aspie text ;-), but I may be wrong.

Good question. You might be interested to know that David Byrne (Scottish pop star from the 1980's) is a diagnosed Aspie (and he's spoken about AS). The Talking Heads (his group) is still popular. Their single, Burning Down the House, above 8)

Oh, Craig Nicholls of The Vines (Australia/New Zealand origin) is diagnosed too! [Edit: As Kiran just posted!]

I thought David Byrne was from New York... at least that's where the Talking Heads were based. He doesn't sound Scottish to me. Might as well mention Gary Numan too.

Yes, I love Gary Numan. Years before I was officially diagnosed, I actually first heard of Asperger's syndrome because of him.

I suspect Morrissey to have Autism - which doesn't mean he does, of course. But I would be very surprised if not.

I'm talking about singers who would be in the same category as Taio Cruz, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.

Sometimes Talking Heads sound a lot like Lady Gaga, normally with more substance in their songs though. :D

I'm not talking about music from before the 21st century.

Well, about that......probably not, but who knows? For sure, there have been (as mentioned above) but, as know, many/most pop singers are the super popular outgoing type, which is not too Aspie-ish. But there may be exceptions that we don't know about.

Don't quote me on this......but, just as conjecture, I've 'heard' that Kanye West is spectrum-ish. I can sort-of see the reasoning, although it's gossip for now.

Maybe you know of one that has Aspie qualities? Having strong musical ability is "normal" for Aspies you know 8)

I'm pretty sure Kanye West isn't on the spectrum, since most people who are have average to high intelligence, and he's about as intelligent as a potato.

That would be the 'Vacuous Twaddle and Excruciatingly Bad Lyrics' category, then . . .

Adam Young, founder of Owl City, is a good one. :)

He's the only one I could think of.

Most top 40 stuff I don't like, though.
