It is said that aspies seem to make friends that are older or younger than them, what about you?

Anyone not around my age group. Better with kids or adults, I don't know.

Most of my friends are around my age or a few years younger.

same here, most of my good friends (with the exception of three that I've grown up with) are in their mid to late thirties. I seem to have a knack for getting along with young children and family pets. I tend to keep my friend lists light; I see no reason to crowd my life with people...yeah, those I mostly visit with are either in their thirties or of my parents' generation.

I don't have friends, but from the internet most of the people I get along with are 5-20 years older than me of the opposite gender. I guess I'm a prime example of not being able to get along with those of my age group or even my own gender often times.

I've become better at making friends with teenagers (which I put down to them maturing,) but I used to be far more open with adults.

i have one friend. He is the same age as me though and he has AS so I don't think it counts as much. It depends weather you are talking about acquaintances or friends? I like to exchange information and learn generally from people younger than me by two years and from people 45+.

+1. I have maybe 2 or 3 good friends that are around the same age as me. Then, most of them are much younger (I'm 18, most of my friends are in the 6 - 12 range), and some of them are older (30+).

That's one reason why I don't really like college – it seems like I'm always being forced to try to make friends with all the other students, when I just want to learn.

During my 'teens, I looked up to older people more because many people my age seemed immature. Today, however, I just look for maturity wherever it might exist.

I know! Some teenagers are so immature! And I'm a teenager and I think that! I get along much better with adults.

Sure, and there are three key factors there: Candor, curiosity and being teachable (humility).

I put a mix of ages. I often get along with adults of all ages better than my peers, but fellow teenagers are also acquaintances of mine.

I can get along ok with kids my age if we do not actually talk about anything important or serious. When people express opinions , but have no idea why they hold that opinion, it drives me insane and that happens with tons of guys in my year but at least when I talk about politics with the adults i know they may have a (to me) stupid opinion, but they know why they hold it.

I'm early 20s and the majority of people who I get on best with are people at work, mostly in their 30s or older.

When I was at school I'm told (I don't have much memory of early school life) that I got on much better with the staff than with the other children, so I guess the whole 'people older than me' thing applies.
