I feel like I have no empathy for other people, when people ask me, " How would you feel if you were in my situation?" I really can't make a connection there. I don't feel bad for the other person. Anyone else?

i'm honestly the same way. i can feel remorse for things i've said to people or slight sadness when i see other people suffering but i never truly, deeply understand how the other person feels. i think 'we are not the same, therefore our experiences can't be in any way similar.' i really wish i knew how to make that connection.

I'm a mixed bag. I feel empathy towards some events and people, no empathy towards some other people.

This doesn't really seem to have anything to do with my opinion of them.

Yep. I can kind of recreate the effect with effort, but considering how often people use the empathy of others against them, I have no reason to do so in most cases. That's why emotional blackmail simply does not work on me.

I'd have to agree with samsa. Sometimes I feel too much empathy and others I don't feel any.

I'm a very empathetic person, I have no problems with that in fact might at times be too empathetic lol

My mum on the other hand I don't know if she feels empathy often, she never acts sympathetic at all
And I mean she's a nice person and everything
One of the reasons I always wonder, with autistic traits running in families and all, if she might have mild aspergers
But it doesnt seem to affect her daily life so i dont suppose it matters. Just something for me to ponder.

I usually feel empathy, but probably a bit less than NTs.

I'm like samsa: I feel empathy sometimes, but usually not.

If you even feel you should care, then you care. Sympathy doesn't have to be an emotion fest.

I always care, sometimes I just bury it under other emotions to stop my own pain.

Quite normal. You're only 15. The mind still growing. Has barely anything to do with autism or whatever.

Once you reach the age of 20 something, you'll most likely start to realize how much empathy you truly have for others.
