most random obsessions!

what have been the most random,hilarious or deranged obsessions you have either had or heard of? i have seen some pretty random ones on here and real life. iv'e never really had obsessions but some things i found funny were things like toilets and lori petty and lawn darts. the crazier the better!

I was once obsessed with mycology, or the study of fungus.

the guys dad in dear john was obsessed with coins and amndas character thought he {the dad} was autistic due to it and odd behaviour

Toilets, specifically the differences between Western style toilets and like, the drop ones that they have in other parts of the world. I would actually spend hours reading articles debating which type of toilet is best...:/ yeah, that's probably one of the most weird obsessions I have had.

I have had too many to mention.

I guess, The local Irish version of the popular show The Apprentice which no one except me and my 2 friend watch. Really obscure TV right there.

But I think the winner of my strange obsession has to be

1. The south of the USA (below the Mason Dixon line)
2. The American Civil War
3. New Orleans, LA

All 3 are weird because I am not American, nor have I ever been to American in my life.

I know every move of the Civil War, STILL want to live in New Orleans, and know all about the south (but I didn't like the slaves or racism bit. Only the non-racist southerners of today and people like Capote or Harper Lee who were southern but not a bit racist are the ones I have respect for. The racist ones can go bite my-)

i think my most random interest was studying the types of quartz (when I was 10-12 ys old), I never really cared about anything anyway related to quartz, I just read a lot about it.
It is one of the few things you'll never find anyone who would like to have a chat about (except my father and some biology teachers),

pharmacological actions of various sedatives(benzodiazepines, etc.), opioids and amphetamines. Well I want to be a doctor but its still somewhat random...I also just like medicine in general though!

My obsessions have always been so standard....the Holocaust took up ages 8 to 12, and the sixties and The Beatles. Last year I read all I could about shampoo ingredients, but it didn't last long so I didn't get down to it. But still, not too run of the mill

I have many.
One in particuler that stays with me is cars. I know everything about them and am so interested in them wich is kind of random because im a girl.
Also This happens to me alot, if i find a tv show that i love then i research all about the actors. I do this alot but move on to different ones. But let me clarify im NOT a stalker as i dont like track them down or care about where they are i just find some stuff out about them.

I was obsessed with plants when I was 8.

When I was younger I was obsessed with all of the Lion King movies to the point were I started acting like a lion.

I once had a mini obsession with US military MREs and emergency rations. That was earlier this year.

As a child I must have watched the movie Garfield at least 20 times...

Wicca, spells and magic. I collected crystals and spellbooks and would make my friends lie on the floor for hours while we tried to levitate pencils or I tried to levitate my friends!

Death. Yes, I was in a bad place.

Cacti.

Food. As in collecting pictures of it, finding out about nutrition, and not eating it.

I haven't really had much in the way of obsessions really. I don't get too obsessive but to an extent, though I think that everybody goes through certain phases.

Or am I just in denial?

Yeah. I collect dead animals from time to time. I used to be obsessed with tim burton, andy warhol, and edie sedgwick.
I also used to be obsessed with Pokemon.
German expressionism is amazing, and I used to be obsessed with anime.
riot grrrl & punk rock music will always be in my heart though, no matter how old I get. I also love grunge music.
I also liked moths, and lepidopterology. Lol@my geekiness.
I also am obsessed with cupcakes. I have a large tattoo on my upper arm of a cupcake with a diamond on top, lol
