I have read so many, I mean so many places where people call themselves a loner.
I feel like, hey, this is someone I can relate to.
Then they say, oh, well I have a SO (girlfriend/boyfriend).
Like, I'm not trying to be mean, and that is great that they have a SO, but it seems like I am the only loner.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only person alone in the world who spends their day perusing the internet and running while everyone else who may or may not have an addiction to the internet but has another half.
I mean, seriously, does that not defy the meaning of the word?
Loner...alone, if you are a couple(of 2)....coupler, or tooser, or something.
Idk, maybe I'm the only one who feels this way...or am I, anyone else who thinks this, speak up!

Having a boyfriend didn't turn me into a people-loving socially skilled extrovert. It meant I was lucky enough to find a connection that worked out for me, and I won't deny it does help me socially, but I am still the same introvert I always was. I'm still no good with crowds or parties or small talk. I've just upgraded from a complete loner to a loner with a boyfriend.

Having an SO doesn't necesarily mean you have friends. And having an SO is great, but it isn't everything. If I'm mad at him, I don't have anyone to vent to. If he does something romantic for me, I have no one to talk about how great he is. If we're fighting, I have no one but me. He isn't a subsitute for a friend, at least not for me. And all the same problems are still there. Some aspies act like if only they had an SO they would stop hurting. Not true. You'll find some things are better, but probably not as much as you expected.

I'd still consider myself a loner.
I only talk to my boyfriend and my one other friend, pretty much.

I'm a complete loner myself. Though I'm content with it. :D
