How do you make friends?
I've been trying to make friends. I have a bit of friends outside of school, but I NEED friends for school since I'm getting SUPER sick of being alone during lunch. Don't tell me to be myself since that's not very specific. If I was being myself I would stim whenever I want to, pretty much only talk about special interests and say whatever I want. I used to do that in elementary school, but pretty much everyone teased me about it. I don't want that to happen again.
Having friends is a commitment. You need to be able to stay committed to them. If you successfully make friends with them then you have to listen to them whenever they talk. You have to treat them sorta like a cat. If you ever have a cat you would know that you have to make accommodations for them. the cat may be a bad metaphor but oh well.
You have to be able to give up some aspects of your schedule. If they invite you to a movie or social outing which is right when you already have a personal thing scheduled, then you have to give up your previously scheduled event.
Sacrifices.
I keep only a degree of friends because I cannot get myself to fully commit.
In order to get friends you have to smile a lot. Not just when you see people but when you are alone. Well, maybe that is true maybe it is only true for me and not you. You have to kinda imitate them. Not a mocking imitation but a behavioural imitation. If they are the happy kind of person then become happy. If they are the sad kinda person then be sad but a little bit happy. Because everyone is drawn to happy people.
I hope I haven't confused you. Friendship vibes to you.
