I'm not a great runner. My running time for a mile is the 36th percentile. My goal is to make it to the 50th percentile by running three days a week. When I make it to the 50th percentile, my next goal will be to make it to the 60th percentile.

Meaning for the percentiles you mentioned would be helpful. But i know what you mean. I'm determined to do my two mile in under sixteen minutes. When i get there i'm going for 15:30. Emlion your crazy along with the rest of you runners. How y'all can run happily confounds me. I'm huffing and cussing every step of the way.

Guys and Girls... run slow but for a long time. You need to have a strong heart lungs and muscles before you do too much. I am a strong aspie athlete so it worked for me. Never run so much that you hurt something.

but the part where it hurts and powering through it is the most rewarding bit.

If my running time is the 36th percentile, that means 74% of American girls my age can run faster than me. That's not so great, but it's a relief considering that I was worried I'd get less than the 10th percentile (that would mean over 90% of American girls my age could run faster than me.)

I understand percentiles. I was curious as to actual time related data. Although i understand if your not comfortable sharing.

I run a mile in 11:06. That's the 40th percentile. I used to run a mile in 12:05. That's the 36th percentile.

No one can measure percentiles 100%, don't even pay attention to that, just pay attention to your overall health and how you look and feel as a person.

and btw, i like to run alot too, makes me feel better!

I have sports asthma, so I don't like running. Minus the asthma, I can run pretty fast.

Someone once said to me in gym "Nice run!" At first, I didn't know if it was sarcasm or not but after processing it as sarcasm it was pretty embarrasing that I looked so klutzy.
