I'm pretty weird with computers. I can catch on with some things right away, but I can never seem to figure other things out.

I have never tried designing a website but no reason i could not.

with out things to do with computing, i am quite good but not quite up to the genius criteria.

i know a guy who is working on a compression algorithm which means with the software to use it, using current internet standards we could transfer MASSIVE amounts of data.

he has proved it can work but is now just looking to start coding the entire thing and considering the best way to make sure it makes it to the whole world without being taken advantage of by a select few corporations.

This guy has an IQ of 150 and has taught me a lot. Unsurprisingly, he is on the spectrum.

I know my way around them like a second nature, but that's quite normal for our generation anyway.

But computers have always been an interest of mine, so I experiment with different OSes, different hardware, etc, and I'm always ready to modify and hack the crap out of my gadgets :P

Not to mention the fact I run a few websites, too. Nothing too fancy, but hey.

Um, I am not an adolescent but then when I was an adolescent computers weren't around much.
I voted for 'pretty good' but I don't exactly fit the criteria. Probably I could make a web site but I am not interested in making one. But I could crack into the average box at any given time and I usually fix own my machines. Which by the local standards is a computer genius alright.

By the poll's standards I'm a computer genius.

I created a website once - with the help of freewebs.

Anyway, I'm okay with computers. I'm not bad with them, nor am I a computer genius, but I'm just okay.

Me too. But then, I create and administer websites, write code in many different languages including C and Assembler, and work in an IT section. Not a genius for a programmer/analyst, but in terms of the poll that's "genius".

I'm more of a hardware guy myself, but I can make a decent website if I try.

If you live in the UK and are on benefits such as Job Seekers, DLA or incapacity benefit there are literally tons of part time computing courses you can do for free.

Not for much longer, I'm sure.

It's best to learn about computers yourself, though, IMO. Pretty much everything I know, I learnt by mucking around with computers myself. When I did have to do IT classes, where they taught dull simple things like how to use Microsoft Office, I did the work in ten minutes then did my programming :P

I build computers. I know how to make websites with both flash and HTML. And I dabble in Linux. But I'm most certainly not a genius of any kind.

I have an up-and-down relationship with computers. I'm a touch typer, can search the internet well, and can program in Python. Yet despite this, practical functions of it - such as knowing when something is safe enough to download, or learning new aspects - can stump me.

I'm not good at synthesizing my knowledge and the basics of computers, particularly. This is a problem with me in practically everything - I understand advanced maths, but don't know my times tables or long division. I can write long, involved and persuasive speeches, but not 'Hi, my name is x and I like x and x' ones.

Basics stump me. So, I put 'can build a website, but not a great one', although it's a little more complicated than that.

Does anyone else have this problem?
