Hello,

I'm getting fixed braces on Wednesday morning, I'm very nervous, this is a very big step for me as before, I wouldn't even go sit in the dentists chair, but, last week i went i sat and listened even though i had to hold onto my PECS card that said "Listen" all the way through to remind me.

I did it, I listened to the dentist talk about my teeth and how there going to get straightened and look nice, after having braces, but, I'm so so so so so so nervous, I don't knnow how this is going to work.

I want them, I am going to have them, this is going to happen, I just need a lot of hugs and support right now.

Thanks x

Shouldn't an orthodontis do the braces?

It's generally not a particularly painful procedure. It's somewhat uncomfortable and the day after your mouth will be sore and your might remain so for about a week but that goes away and you will eventually acclimate to the brackets and won't notice them.

After that, your mouth may feel sore a day or so after each tightening but it passes quickly and isn't as sore as it was after they first put them on.
