I am a 14 year old dignosed Asperger. I watch Juon, bloody anime (Higurashi) and aren't really affected at all. Silent HIll scares the heck outa my mother and father and they think I shouldnt be watching "Scary" things. I dont think they get its not scary to me at all! Sure its twisted and abnormal, but not scary. I keep wondering if this is the same for all Asperger girls/boys... :? I just dont get it.

Agreed.

But to answer the question, I don't really know. I may sometimes lack empathy, but when I see violent things happening to people it's hard not to be affected by it. Although I know some people that are more affected by that sort of thing than me.

It is Asperger by the way not Asperger! Unless you are a troll or trying to be offensive?

I don't like violence. At all.

That said, I still play Killing Floor.

I am more effected by violence. If a movie is rated PG-13 or R for violence, I won't see it. I have to look away from violent news stories and if there is some type of fighting sport of sport like UFC or boxing on TV at a restaurant, I have to sit with my back to the TV that is showing it. It might because my dad is very anti-violence.

I dunno. I have never felt sick due to violence alone but I have always been careful with my media consumption. The only R-rated movie I've ever seen is part of The King's Speech. I was scarred for life by Gremlins but that wasn't due to violence. (I'm still terrified of them to this day. They're one of my only true fears). Games like Resident Evil don't bother me and I didn't even find Dead Space very gross. (I didn't like it but more because it seemed depraved and attempting to use gross-out horror rather than actual horror than anything else)

I don't know if I am qualified to answer this, I only suspect that I have Asperger's Syndrome or the like, but I have noticed what you were saying in myself. I love horror movies and action movies and it really doesn't phase me to see people getting torn to bits or having their heads forcefully removed or the like. I don't much mind the violence in movies and games because I can rationalize it as special effects.
