I like to inspire people to draw, or do better at stuff. I have also stopped a number of people from commuting suicide. I hope these are good things. =) I just like to inspire people in general =)
Commuting to suicide? Like finding a cliff to jump off of? lol
i have a mate who would jump off a cliff, not to kill himself just to do it for the sake of it... especially if dared.... he aspie.... not invincible.... >.<
no, ive had one friend tried to drink poison, another try and slit their wrists n bleed it out... another wanted to hang himself.. another wanter to jump out the 2nd story window of his house... ya u get the picture... these kids when i was 15-16 were 11-13 quite sad really...
It is great that you are so supportive of your friends in their times of trial. Everyone could use a little compassion and reason.
We all contribute to society simply by existing, regardless of our diagnosis or lack of. The things that we do, the things that we say, and the people that we are help to enrich the lives of those we encounter. Making posters, tutoring, helping a friend, volunteering, inspiring others, helping organize events; these are all wonderful contributions to the world we live in. One doesn't have to build a house in a third world country or feed the homeless to better the existence of those in one's community. Every little bit of happiness spread, even if it is something as little as holding the door open for somebody or simply being a "shoulder to cry on," makes a difference in the lives of others.
To answer the OP:
My poetry is published in a few anthologies (albeit local and not immensely popular). I would hope that my literature is a contribution to society.
I've also sung at Veteran's Day programs with a volunteer "choir," tutored freshmen with writing, helped with church events, and caroled to the elderly.
