You ever have any issues with finding a place to sit inside a cafeteria during lunchtime? For all intents and purposes I don't go inside the cafeteria at all. My school allows people to have off campus privilages and I use that as often as possible. But what about you guys?

We don't have a set lunch time at my community college so I generally have lunch at home or if I have time and money go to the Wendy's across the street where I generally sit alone. Now when I was in K-12 school intially I had no problem with lunch and sat with people without any problem but I don't know what it was but in 10th grade instead of eating lunch I would just get a pass to the ibrary and go read during lunch time. So I kinda did dread going to lunch especially on days the library wasn't open but I ended up sitting alone usually outside. No one said anything to me about it but I wish I had just asked people to let me sit with them.

oooh...i hate lunchtime. the cafeteria is so loud and there are so many people! i generally dislike talking to people while i'm eating and doing my homework. our lunchtime has been shortened to 35 minutes this semester! now i don't have enough time to finish all my homework before i get home. i don't want to go out into the lobby to do my homework becaue that's where all the loud talkers and "whateva" people normally hang out. outside is too distracting. and walking to the library would waste valuable minutes...plus, the librarian scares me.

When I was in high school I had a terrible time trying to find someplace to sit. I always felt unwanted. Finally, senior year I basically forced the popular girls to let me sit at their table.

Back in 2005 I had a fight with someone who was hassling me, so I left the lunchtime group that I used to hang out with, I went and did all my design work in the computer lab, it really got lonely.

By the time 2006 came, everyone had matured, just about everyone in my year level was aware that I had Aspergers Syndrome and understood that I could act a little different, so they got used to who I was, and didn't hassle me about it.

I made up with the dude that I got into a fight with, and went and chilled with our 20 strong group at lunch times, it felt really good to have people to talk to once again at lunch time, I'm quite glad that I decided to fix the problem.

It's 2007 now and I've finished school 4 months ago and graduated, So theres been no school, but I regularly chill out with a friend at least once a week and work or sleep most other days.

I haven't bought lunch at my school yet. There are like 600 kids in the lunchroom so even if I really wanted to sit down I couldn't. There are literally no seats. Our school lunch is nasty anyways.

I had so many problems with people in the cafeteria that I would go to one of my teacher's classrooms instead and eat there. This was when I was in Jr. High. We only got 20 minutes to inhale our disgusting lunches.

I sit at a table with a bunch of people I used to be friends with who still tolerate me. I read the entire time.
I hate lunch. It's my least favorite period of the school day.

At College I go on a computer and read the news. It is quiet, and the way the computers are positioned I can just look at the screen whilst thinking as well. Lunchtime is so tediously long it's untrue. I go home on Monday and Tuesday, as I have 4 hours in which I can go on my own computer and play games. If I don't go on a computer at college I'll be reading in the library, or bored to tears wandering around college, whilst drawing suspicion in the process.

We have a set place to be during lunch time, but I don't go. I stay in one of my classrooms because I can't stand most of the people in the cafeteria..

I usually just read or do some homework..Going to lunch is pointless for me

Yeah. I normally have a problem - if problem is the right word to use here in finding a group. But oddly, in some sort or another of way, I'll find a group four months into the year.

At least it's not like my previous school, in which you had no choice but to eat your lunch in the cafeteria, no choice but to survive the brutal grouping system imposed by who-knows.

At my school now you have the choice of the cafeteria or the quadrangle. Which, to be honest, isn't much of a choice, but certainly it's better than what I used to have. As well, lunch is approximately 35 minutes long - in other words, endless.

I've found my way into a relatively small - at least when compared to the twenty-person behemoths that surround us - group of acquaintances over the past two months.

And just as I'm getting to the point in which they hint that we are some way or another "friends," second semester comes. Our school's classes are semester long, and that means a different lunch next semester. Who knows what that's going to bring.

For the first time I actually dread having to eat lunch alone... even if it's for only two or three weeks...

I don't go in the cafeteria, because I wouldn't know where to sit.
I just stand in the halls.
Lunch is torture :!:

Now that I'm at university, I usually eat lunch in the dining commons. Sometimes it can get fairly loud, but I arranged my schedule so that I usually am in there when it is quietest. During high school, I would eat lunch in the physics lab with all of the other science geeks (and those people who desperately needed help with chemistry or physics homework).
